Really really good

We were at the hotel for 3 nights. Everything was great. The room was comfortable and clean. Parking was easy. The location was easy. Breakfast was good -actual hot food. Not the lunch bag prepackaged things we’ve had during the pandemic. Highly recommend ! Wayne at checking gave us helpful tips and a map.
Premier Value in the St. Charles Historic District

Let's face it. Websites only tell you so much and when searching for future lodgings you carefully weigh the cost of a stay with the value you receive in areas of cleanliness, service, convience, parking and ammenities. In the end, you choose a hotel that you hope will meet your needs without ending in dissapointment during your travels. Before I continue with this review, I can confirm this place is a very strong value.
The Parking, located in the covered lower garage and open sky lots, behind the tall brick hotel was very plentiful. The Front Desk was very kind and welcoming. The King Room was clean, had tall ceilings and included a fridge and microwave.
The breakfast was better than I expected. It included hot scrambled eggs and sausage patties. Kids and their parents were excitedly using the Belgian Waffle maker and selecting fresh fruit in a motel continental setup with a dining area and juice dispenser (Cranberry, Orange and Apple). Bagels, Cereal and Milk were also available.
As this review mentions in the title, this location is a Value. That does not mean it is imperfect. Here are some of the things you should also expect.
The coffee is located closer to the Front Desk where you check-in. When we were there, it tasted old and bitter the first day and on our second it was fresh and perfect. These things happen and it can be difficult in these times of staffing shortages to attend to food and coffee areas, but just know it might be like that when you come also and if you let the staff know they will assist your every need and brew some more. Just ask. They would want you to and not be dissapointed. Our staff member was very grateful we passed that to them to fix.
The beds are a little firmer, but not uncomfortable. The pillows were perfect in medium fill. The soft linens were high quality. It appeared to me the mattresses, linens and pillows were all newer.
The flat schreen television was dated and the remote had some mileage. It was a good size TV and worked well so function was flawless with no complaints.
The back of the hotel faces the Katy Trail and a larger backlot close to a neighboring mega casino. This area is darker at night and there could be crime the farther you park from the hotel as this public area has traffic after hours both on bikes and cars.
The hotel felt safe and warm like home. The carpets were worn in some areas in the hallways but this is normal. It was very quiet at night. Walls seemed thicker as we never heard anyone in other rooms or near our door. There was a good central elevator that accessed the parking garage below.
The tub shower had good water pressure and sturdy fresh white towels were plentiful in the bathroom. The toilet style and seat were elongated commecial. Shampoo, soap and conditioner provided. very big mirror over the sink.
There is a pool, but we did not go ourselves. Photos of it on the website looked very nice for a medium size range of a rectangle hotel pool.
The thermostat and air conditioning felt wonderful.
The last and greatest perk is the location. Walking down the street you can spend a good part of the day shopping, eating at pubs, enjoying sweets and taking a darn good history tour on the first capitol building in Missouri. No need to move the car unless you want to. Walking gets you most places and the sidewalks are level. You can sit in little parks or walk by the big river herself on a close trail. It is not just a hotel, but a fun destination.
The price was very good for everything we received and you should consider this as Mid-range for the hotels available in the area. You get so much for a moderate price. I am a real person who does not know the owners or receive compensation. We just had a good stay and felt the next person might want to know. Give it a try yourself. This is good for families and business travelers.

Great hotel, everything seemed very clean, I pretty much always travel with Lysol because that is me. Sheets were silky soft, bed was comfortable, we both slept great. The employees were very friendly and helpful. One of the guys at the front desk was working 3 shifts continuously, they were having trouble keeping help but they seemed to do a pretty good job with the staff they had.
The breakfast on weekends were better than during the week because (they said) a shortage of staff.
Really enjoyed the location, close to Katy trail, riverfront, lots of pubs, restaurants, shopping, riverfront casino, and old town St Charles. The Trolley runs on weekends and stops directly out front. Great way to ride around, free fare , if you like your tour then tips are accepted

This was a really wonderful motel for the final night of our stay: a beautiful building, perfectly located at the start of the historic district, very affordable, and with clean, quiet and well-furnished rooms. We also had a covered parking spot, and the airport was only 15 minutes away! Highly recommend!
