great place to stay
We have stayed there for a total of 8 nights over the last 3 weeks. First of all, our favorite person at the front desk is by far Diana. A super nice lady, knows her job very well, very nice, etc. Can't say enough. The rooms are nice, we had a king sized bed upstairs. The rooms upstairs are a king sized bed, a full sized couch, and a desk with chair. There are 2 things that would be good for them to change.... 1) to get a "Do not disturb sign that you can stick in the room key card slot. The one they have, you hang on the door and it falls off. 2) lower wattage light bulbs in the bathroom. We unscrewed 3 of the 5 lights as it ws just too bright. Especially first thing in the morning. The older maintenance guy was super nice as well. He was always in a good mood even when working on a sunday! You can walk from the front door of the hotel to Denny's in one minute. To Burger king in 2 minutes. To dairy queen in 3 minutes. Not the newest hotel but clean, nice and friendly. Thank you Diana!!!
Casual travel
We had the chance to travel to San Diego to attend a wedding for our grand-daughter. We were invited to ride down with the parents and family of this grand-daughter. Having a large family, they must reserve two hotel rooms when they spend the night. Of course, that means there must also be at least one adult in each room.....so we filled the requirement. Being captive passengers, so to speak, we stay where they stay, so we stayed the night at The Clarion Suites in St. George, Utah. We have never spent an evening at a Clarion. It was an adequate room for the basics with two queens and a sofa bed. The microwave was barely large enough for the small economy size bag of popcorn and the television was small. The mattress on the sofa bed was enough to give a person “Hee-Bee-Gee-Bees”! It had very ominous stains proving the mattress seldom, if ever, gets checked or changed. I was glad it wasn’t me or my wife sleeping on it. As it was, we recommended that the grandson not use it. The rooms are accessible from outdoors with no indoor access. I was surprised to see they had a continental breakfast, which was actually pretty fair. Since we were guests of our children and their family, we were glad we had a bed and warm room to sleep in. This would not be my first choice in lodging in St. George. I do not know what the room rates were, but they must be reasonable, I don’t know how the Clarion is in other cities, hopefully better.
If you are traveling on a budget, this is a good place to stay.
We needed to get a few rooms for two nights and this was one of the best deals we could find in the area, close to where we wanted to be. The rooms were not huge, but worked out great for us. We came to hike and spend some time with friends and didn't spend a lot of time in the rooms besides sleeping. Great breakfast as well. Easy access on and off of I-15 and plenty of nearby places to eat.
Great Stay
This is one of the hotels that was good for family stay. Room was neat and clean ( told by my wife who is very concerned about cleanliness of any hotel we stay). So it was wife approved! Breakfast was very good...there were 3 dedicated people serving breakfast and cleaning tables and making sure all the food were topped off every few minutes. I have already made it my favorite hotel to stay in St. George. We are planning to stay again soon.
Great breakfast!
Although this feels like an older property, it’s well-maintained and clean. The highlight is the breakfast, which is included, and offers a better variety of food than its competition. We would stay here again.
