What a frustrating experience

I booked online with points, yet when I showed up, they had no record of my reservation. I showed them my email and they still couldn't do anything , so I had to call Wyndham Rewards to find out what was going on. I spent almost 40 minutes on the phone trying to get it straightened out, but they finally did. Local staff was kind and upgraded my room, but unfortunately, my room was awful! Neighbors blasting music, fighting loudly, so unruly. I ignored until 8:30, then called the front desk, they called the room and the music ended. Great! About 20 minutes later the yelling started again. I waited for a while and finally called the front desk again and Joleene, who was new, answered the call and moved me into a new room. I felt so bad for her, as she was at the front desk since I walked up and witnessed all my problems with my reservation, yet she was professional, polite and helpful. I'll come back just because of her.
Very nice hotel, clean and a great breakfast!

We had to get out of our house for a few days while our cabinets were being painted and the La Quinta was the only place in Salem I could find that accepted cats. We were very happy to find this out. The hotel was very nice: lobby and rooms very clean, extremely comfortable beds, good WiFi. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was awesome!! It was a hot buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage, two types of waffle makers, biscuits and gravy and of course all the usual pastries, fruit, yogurt etc. This is very conveniently located next to a Costco, Denny’s across the street and numerous restaurants and fast food within a mile or two. It’s also right off the freeway We did not encounter any issues with homeless that I had read about in other reviews and parking was always available. We didn’t use the pool but we saw others heading in. I’d highly recommend and definitely stay again!
Dirty, lights didn't work very well.

Our room was surprisingly dirty. There was things on the wall that were disgusting, all the walls need to be scrubbed.. The lights all were very dim, with no way to turn them up. I reported these things in the morning when checking out.
Nice, Clean and Comfortable

We've stayed at this location several times and like the hotel. It's not within walking distance of shopping or restaurants unless you're going to Costco or Denney's. Not a deal beaker, just something to keep in mind.
HouseKeeping Stole my Diamond Earrings and took money from my wallent

On 8/18/2021 my friend and I stayed at the LaQuinta in Salem on Hawthorne Ave. Very nice hotel. On the morning of 8/19/2021 before we were checking out we decided to go to the pool, as we were going down in the elevator I remembered I had forgotten something. Upon returning to the room my room door was open and I knew that I had closed it firmly behind me. HouseKeeping cart was right next to our room. Not thinking any more of it I went back down to go to pool. After we checked out and we were driving around I reached up and noticed I forgot to put my diamond earrings back on. We rushed back and management and I talked with the housekeeper and she stated she didn't see my earrings. I remember putting them in the black tray where the coffee is held. My word against hers, I know. But I KNOW she was lying. Then on the way home we stopped to get gas and $300 had been removed from my purse that I had left in the room next to the bed. I knew what I had had as all my $50's were gone and only 3 $20 bills were left. We always stay at LaQuinta Inns, but I will never stay at this one ever again as they have shifty housekeeping staff. Don't stay here!! I had even given this housekeeper a tip, before I knew what she had done. BEWARE...
