Stay at the Mercure Hotel last week in Salvador

Reviewed 5 september, 2021

The hotel is well located in Salvador, the staff available 24h and the general manager follows carefully the hosts requirements. This time I was impressed by the welcoming counter team, as they were very dedicated, having a permanent eye to my arrivals and departures, always smiling and actiing in an extremely polite way. May I mention Mrs Paloma as I saw her name on her badge, she was really kind, and all her colleagues too.

Restaurant for dinner: a must

Reviewed 20 july, 2021

The hotel itself was, admittedly, nothing special for the price. We got a double superior room that overlooked the sea, and if you book here be sure to do the same. The pool is spectacular, but due to its close proximity to the IBIS hotel next door, it is often cramped with people. That being said, the restaurant is marvellous. Though seemingly a bit pricy, it is well worth the money! Offering classic foods and American foods, the restaurant is well worth the cash. We had the moqueca of red fish and the pasta com frutos do mar, with a bruschetta to start. All were marvellously full of robust flavours. We went to other restaurants in Rio Vermelho and were thoroughly disappointed because the quality at the hotel restaurant was so high.

My brother and I stayed one night. The hotel is worth staying one night just for the beautiful pool wonderful breakfast and amazing views from the hotel. The beach is beautiful and rocky. We ate at the hotel and it was high quality food for dinner as well as breakfast.

Dirty, worn out, uncomfortable

Reviewed 9 december, 2020

If you visit Salvador, don’t chose Mercure. Although seeing several complaints with same content (2014- now), nothing has changed: still fungus in the bathroom, broken toilet, noisy refrigerator, filthy mattress, dirty floor, cheap decoration, unloving furniture, and so on. Not Mercure standard at all! This place needs a complete revamp & renovation.

Beautiful and comfortable

My husband and I had a wonderful time there. Breakfast was plenty of options and delicious. Staff was always friendly and the swimming pool is very pleasant. Restaurants near by are also great. Highly recommend!
