A Delightful and Comfortable B&B

My wife and I have been to bed and breakfasts across the world, and the Penny Farthing Inn is one of our favorites and most memorable. Richard has done a great job with this 1893 house, in historic St. Augustine, Florida. The attention to detail is everywhere, from his elegant white Christmas lights to the 4-5 p.m. social hour that includes white and red wines, cheese, meats, and crackers. The Penny Farthing Inn is in a perfect location as you can park your car on the property, and just walk to downtown St. Augustine. The street it is on has a total of three B&Bs thus traffic on it is rather limited. There is plenty of comfortable outdoor seating for the social hour as well as for your breakfast. In late-November, most guests were eating inside due to it being a tad cool. The breakfasts are gourmet and filling. Each day is something different and delicious. Breakfast service is friendly and efficient. Coffee is provided 75 minutes prior to breakfast so you can relax with the morning sun peeking through the Spanish moss-covered trees. Without a doubt, the next time we are in St. Augustine, we shall make The Penny Farthing Inn our base of operations and our place to chill out.

The breakfasts were amazing! The location was perfect. The owner, Rich was a wonderful host. It was like stepping back in time when you drove up and entered. The happy hour was really nice to have after a long day of travel/walking, but the sherry in our room was a nice addition. My husband and I can't wait to go back!

A charming B&B with excellent service, delicious breakfast, and attention to detail. Richard, the owner, is on top of things and accommodating. The daily wine service is a nice touch. No kids under 12 is a bonus! We would definitely stay again if in the area.

This beautiful bed and breakfast in St. Augustine is so enchanting with it’s beautiful Victorian Charm. The rooms are very clean and well decorated. 4-5pm happy hour is a great way to relax have cheese and wine and talk to other guests. I have been to other bed and breakfast there and none compare to this one, the warm home feel you get makes this stay very pleasant. Breakfast 8:30-9am is at a great time so you can get out and enjoy the city early, the breakfast was absolutely wonderful loved the ham and cheese croissant. The new owners who were regulars to the inn prior are simply great, they have kept everything original from my first visit in 2007. If you like being a close walk to everything, beautiful Victorian homes and decor, a warm atmosphere then this absolutely charming bed and breakfast is for you.
Set back for peace but close enough to walk to most things of interest

We stayed in the Elizabeth Bedchamber for 3 nights and enjoyed it greatly. Clean, warm and inviting, we had a beautiful balcony and loved the authentic Victorian history and decor'. Breakfast is at 830, and tastes amazing, everyone is kind and helpful. We would definitely go again. Highly recommended!
