Good have been good

Could have been better. Service was good. External property was not well kept, litter and unkept lawn. Room was fine, but floors were dirty ro the point where my wife and walked bare footed in room and our feet were black after less than an hour of walking around the room.
Stayed there in June 2021.

Stayed in room 314 see pictures, room was nice and fresh, hotel was quiet, front desk staff was nice and courteous, workout room is simple but I liked it, pool looked great but I did not get in it. Several restaurants nearby. Everything was fine except for the breakfast as they only offer a grab bag that contains bottle water, fruit bowl and usually some type of muffin, they also have coffee, no hot breakfast at all. We’ve stayed at other hotels in the area where they had a full hot breakfast open, it was a business stay so we will probably choose a different stay next time we come to San Angelo since a full breakfast is a lot more convenient for us since we go to work early in the morning and prefer to eat a hot breakfast at the hotel, again besides that everything else was fine.
Too cold to swim

Clean Facility, There were kids swimming in the pool in the morning, but it was too cold for me. Rooms were very clean and sanitized. Lots of lighting in the parking lot. Got placed on floor of preference.
Quality is not what it once was

We have used Wingate by Wyndham as our go to hotel when visiting San Angelo over the last several years. Due to Covid, we hadn't been there in over a year. In that time, the quality and attention to detail has declined. Some examples:
1) a partially used lotion bottle left in the room from the previous guest
2) ice maker missing from 4th floor (just pipes), out of order on 3rd floor
3) iron didn't heat, had to get another iron.
4) ironing board cover elastic ripped so it didn't grip the board
5) carpets stained, looked dirty. Desk said they were working through replacing, hadn't gotten to 4th floor yet.
6) apparently they've changed cable providers, so the channel guide doesn't match the actual channels.
7) couldn't connect to WiFi when we first arrived. Told desk, came back later and it was then working.
8) only 2 towels, no floor mat to use when stepping out of the shower
It's unfortunate because we really liked this hotel. The value isn't there for the room rate anymore.
Hotel in decline

This is our go to hotel for frequent trips to San Angelo. It will probably be our last time to stay. The hotel is in decline. Here are the reasons: only 1 working ice maker, not all toiletries replaced by housekeeping. Used lotion left as “new.” Non working iron. Mirrors “cleaned” with filmy residue left behind. Carpet in room had many spots and felt dirty, internet not working and had to be reset, TV guide for channels in room doesn’t correspond with the actual service on the tv. The list is even longer, but the decline is felt everywhere.
