Great hotel for conference

Conducted a two day business meeting at the Hotel Indigo and the staff was amazing to work with. Every detail was handled professionally…thank you, Dev. Great gathering area on the back patio overlooking the river walk. Rooms were spacious and clean. The location is removed from noise, but close enough to access everything you want to do and see in downtown San Antonio.

Sub-Par Experience

My wife and I spent a night here while attending a concert next door at the Tobin center. This hotel is as close as you can get to this venue. So, great location from that perspective. But that was pretty much it. Check in was efficient, but unfriendly. The old couple in front of me got really friendly service with smiles, etc. However, the moment I stepped up to the counter, the front desk person's demeanor changed to what could best be described as indifferent. Only when she realized I am a Platinum customer did she start behaving a little friendlier. I observed the 2 women at the front desk many times that evening, and they both looked unhappy/stressed. Could be due to current under staffing conditions - but in the service business, that's not an excuse. Doesn't hurt to smile and be friendly - even if you're not on the inside. Cleanliness is certainly not a priority at this hotel. Right from the entrance way - the section under the sliding glass doors as you step into the lobby are filled with dust, the elevators, and many common areas don't appear to have been even vacummed in a while. The room was spacious and in good condition. We could not get the AC to work as the thermostat wasn't working. I called the front desk to ask if the AC was controlled from the AC unit directly or the thermostat - and was told that it needed to be managed by the thermostat on the wall - and since it wasn't turning on, she would send someone up. I was pleasantly surprised when someone did show up rather quickly. He walked over to the AC unit and turned the AC on. Apparently, some rooms work thru the thermostat, and some directly from the AC unit. Duh! The room was decent, the beds comfortable, the pillows nice and firm, and the bathroom good enough as well. Lighting in the room was on the dimmer side. But as others have commented on this board, the noise from the corridors is very loud - more so than in other hotels I've stayed at. Overall, a decent enough stay for a night. But in general a very average hotel. Expected more from the Indigo brand.


Loved the Balcony overlooking the River!

We stayed here for 2 nights during our 2 week road trip. I loved the hotel. We had a room overlooking the river walk with a patio that was very nice. It was so pleasant sitting on the patio with a glass of wine. Couldn’t see much of the river because of all the trees but still nice. It was very quiet because it is a bit of a distance from where all of the action is but we were told it was about a 20 minute walk. I loved the decor of the hotel which I would describe as south western eclectic. Our room was large and I loved the vinyl on the floor. It looked like hardwood and I think it is a very smart choice in hotel rooms. Looks great and is much easier to clean than carpet which ends up being very nasty. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. There was no cleaning service because of COVID which is very typical any more but we were told about it at check in. No big deal since we were only there 2 nights. We did stop at the front desk to get some additional coffee which we got without an issue. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the restaurant. It seemed like there was only one woman working and she seemed to be the hostess, the waitress and the bartender. She could have been the cook too but I’m not sure about that. It was a Saturday night and we had been driving all day and just wanted to relax at the hotel. They were out of bacon, romaine, calamari, iced tea and a few other things. Thought that was a little strange for a Saturday night. Our sandwiches were average at best. Didn’t use the restaurant again while we were there. Overall, our stay was very good in what appeared to be an updated hotel.


Clean and Comfortable stay

This was a fantastic hotel that we stayed at for our 3 night stay in San Antonio. The hotel was clean and comfortable beds made it a great stay! The hotel s located on the beautiful river walk a mile from San Antonio downtown restaurants and shops along the river. It has a back entrance so one could walk along the river walk to and from the hotel and downtown. Usually riverboats provide shuttle service to downtown, but the service was unavailable at the time. (Not affiliated with the hotel) The only reason for the 4 stars is, the hotels has no washer and dryer (only dry cleaning service) no in- room microwaves and breakfast has to be purchased in the in-house restaurant/bar and is not complimentary. We had a fantastic stay during our time her and would definitely consider staying her in the future.


Expectations vs. cruel reality

Pictures in Trivago were nice, it seems to be a enlightened nice hotel, charming… but no. As soon as I arrived to the hotel, I realized that I was disappointed. I arrived at 3:00 o’clock (check in time) but for the first time in my life, the room was not ready, we waited half an hour, but it was not ready yet, so we decided to go for lunch. Rooms were quite dark, no lights in the ceiling at all. The restaurant, the food and the waiter Ruben, were not nice at all, Ruben has an angry face all the time. Not recomendable at all
