Nice, clean hotel

Reviewed 8 november, 2021

Hotel was clean, staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious. My only (minor) complaints are that Uber drivers hate coming to this location, there’s no hotel shuttle on weekends, and when I visited, no working water fountain in the hotel. Also wish that breakfast had waffles. I’ll return if I have another opportunity

Great stay, immoral billing practices

Reviewed 25 october, 2021

I had a king room with desk which was clean and quiet. Breakfast was standard fare. My stay was 10 days and about $1300; however, Country Inn and Suites put a preauthorization of almost $900 on my card, and refused to take it off 10 days after it was placed, and 6 days after I checked out with my bill paid in full. This CI&S referred me to my bank, saying it was their fault, when it clearly was not. T CI&S clearly benefitted from having almost $900 extra dollars of float for nearly 10 days, and they used up the remainder of my credit limit. Beware. I had to go up to VISA cardholder services to get the pending charge removed as banks will not typically allow you to dispute a pending charge.

Ok stay. Don't think I would return. Too many other choices

The hotel was clean enough, but the king bed was very hard. When I inquired at the front desk about whether they had mattress toppers available (they have been available at other properties such as Hampton Inn), the person at the front desk had no idea, and said she would ask housekeeping, but we never heard an answer. The breakfast buffet was servicible (side note, don't put out bread sizes that don't fit in the toaster).

Wonderful stay in a quiet, clean neighborhood

I have to give this place a shoutout. Stayed here with the wife and kiddo over the 4th of July weekend and it was great considering the times we're in. It's in a business park area which is fine with me. We were in town for the zoo, but we also went to the Safari and the Sorrento Valley area is about halfway in between. Also, you can drive right up Mira Mesa Blvd. and there's plenty of restaurants, fast food, Target, etc. There's also a Starbucks right next door. Our room was perfectly nice enough and everything was operating correctly. When I checked in, I asked for a room higher up and away from the elevators and after searching for a minute they were able to accommodate. All employees were friendly. Special kudos to the workers who man the complimentary breakfast. It was a madhouse (seriously people, even though it's takeaway, do you really need to ask for 23 different items?) but they did their best. We did not use the pool but plenty of others did. My only complaint is that people kept tracking water from the pool to the elevators, but that's not really the hotel's fault. Oh, and free parking! Would stay again.
