More about the hotel
Using COVID as an excuse not to provide service expected at the Hilton Level
I'm a platinum member staying at this hotel. My request was to simply have two wine glasses to take to my room. California is understandably closing down after 10pm, but I see no reason why a "respectable hotel" should deny very basic things like glasses and room service to assist with staying indoors during a Pandemic. I was told the restaurant was closing down due to inactivity for the night. This should never affect my request for two wine glasses to help my guest and I enjoy my evening indoors. Hotels should do more to help keep guests inside, vs stopping basic hotel services to force them to search elsewhere.
Me and my dog San Diego weekend
Had to get out of Hollywood for a weekend after being confined to my apartment since March when the pandemic started... the gaslamp quarters Hilton hotel was fantastic easy checking great clean and safe room accommodation and great location. Walking distance to a great diversity of restaurants and stores. Centrally located downtown San Diego right across the convention center and the coast offering wonderful walks options to share with your dog with gorgeous scenery.

W.O.W.
I Was very impressed with our trip this year, considering most things are shut down from covid-19. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean n sanitized. They are on top of things when it comes to following the safety guidelines and protocols. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe relaxing trip. Most definitely a 10!!
One night stay
Overall, pretty average hotel. Location: great location, walkable, and next to tons of restaurants. We were there on a Saturday night, so it was lovely walking around the area. Very lively. We also skipped valet parking for $50 and parked a block and a half a away for $24. Check in: fast. Lobby was pretty empty around 4:45 pm. Room: very average. Signs of wear on the desk. The beds were ok. The coils really sank on the edges of the bed. They need to be upgraded. Bathroom is tiny. The shower also didn’t drain well. Windows were filthy. Room was tidy though. Pool: we used the pool that evening and the next morning. The man tending the snacks and drinks was very friendly and kind. Saturday evening was busy as expected. This morning we had the pool to ourselves for a few hours, it was nice. Temp is good but the size of the pool is very small. Check out: ok. Fast. They still haven’t emailed me my invoice. The $25 resort fee is also silly. You get to use it on overpriced snacks.
