We drove in for a three-night stay. Fortunately we had Angel check us in, and he was wonderful at getting us a lovely room with a fabulous view to celebrate our anniversary. You can't beat the convenient location - walk to everything. And we certainly enjoyed looking at the water for a few days. But the parking and resort fees are steep. At least they served a complementary glass of wine in the evening and gave a $15 credit for the food outlets. The breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding, and, as opposed to other places these days, they seemed to have adequate - and very friendly - staff. Our room could use some refreshing, but we understand they haven't had the usual convention traffic for almost two years now. Overall a very nice place that we would return to.

My husband had stayed at this hotel for business many years ago and always wanted to stay there again. We spent three days there during our recent vacation and truly enjoyed our stay. You cannot beat the location. We parked our car in the parking garage and walked everywhere. We were concerned about walking in certain parts of the GasLamp because of the homeless (which is shocking to see), but we felt comfortable during the day and when we were walking the waterfront area and along Harbor Boulevard. The walking path along the marina, seaport and the piers is beautiful and great for a walk any time of the day. Unfortunately, we could not use the beautiful outdoor pool because it was too cold, but we are hoping to return again to enjoy the outdoor amenities. Yes, it is a full-service, big hotel, with a steep daily resort fee. We used a few of the amenities offered ($15 off food, free wine-tasting). The breakfast buffet has a wide variety and everything we had was delicious, but again, it was a steep price even with the $15 voucher. We had breakfast there once and went out the other mornings; there is certainly no shortage of restaurants in the area. We were fortunate to be on the 23rd floor and had a spectacular view of the water, the pool, and Coronado Island. We had no problems with the elevators, and we enjoyed wandering the property buildings. There was always very clear signage to guide us back to the lobby, restaurants the our room location. Others have indicated that the property is showing signs of aging, I didn't find it to be outdated. I did see a few stains here and there on the carpet, but this is a large property with hundreds of guests walking through every day. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We didn't like the pillows, however, and the duvet was very light which didn't keep us too warm during the cold weather. But of course, the cold weather when we were there was an anomaly. We normally stay in the more moderately priced hotels, but this was a splurge and it was worth it.

We have been visiting the Marriott Marquis hotel for staycations for many years now. This was our first one since covid began. We found the quality of service had not changed . Everyone we encountered was pleasant and professional.. We were able to check in early and really appreciated being upgraded to a corner view room with views of Coronado and the bay and a welcome back welcome gift left in our room. They have closed down their concierge room for breakfast which was offered on the week days as now they are creating an M club which will be available shortly. Meanwhile as a platinum member we were able to go to their restaurant and check in the Elite line to receive a delicious complimentary buffet which had many choices. The manager there is Ms. Donna Chong and she has done a fantastic job keeping this hotel operational through these crazy times. She deserves very high praise ! We did here that they will be removing the shops at seaport village to put in high rise accommodations. We will be sad if this is true as that is one of the fun areas we would walk to from the Marriott.

This is my 32nd time at this hotel and the greet me by name. Happy associates very glad to have familiar faces back to serve their hospitality and good will. Always clean easy off the freeways, 42 restaurants within walking distance and the trolley stop across the street. Rosario helpful and kind

We made a short weekend visit to San Diego and stayed at the Marriott Marquis. Definitely made the right choice. Had a room with a balcony and bay view. Room was clean and well appointed. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Only problem was the outlets on the bedside lamp, which did not work (minor inconvenience). Wish the Starbucks stayed open later than 11AM.
