A STORY that must be told

Dennis is a legend. We were on our honeymoon trip and it went better than expected. The hotel gave us a nice room with champagne and that was just the start of it. Dennis was able to get us in The Olympic Club (one of the most exclusive private clubs in the world) for a tour and dinner reservation. With everything that Dennis did for us, we decided to give him a gift of a $100. The next morning, on the day of our check out, I found the envelope we gave him under our door. The envelope had the $100 we gave him and a note The note states, "Congrats on being newly weds and thank you for your generosity. As my gift to you, please have brunch on me. I made reservations for 2 at Brenda's. it's a local favorite and I hope you enjoy it. Congrats again and safe travels. Dennis made our trip a memorable one.

I went on a mother-daughter trip to San Francisco. It's our first time in San Francisco and we've been planning this for years. It didn't start so well. We had a delayed flight from Idaho and resulting in a late arrival in San Francisco. Our taxi ride to the hotel was absolutely scary. The streets were littered with homeless people. i actually feared for my safety. At check in at the hotel, i asked the gentleman if i can shorten my 3 day reservation to one. He asked why and i told him how i felt. He explained everything to us and he really sold San Francisco to us. He explained the homeless and neighborhood issues. He focused on all the good things the city can offer and not just the tourist areas but also, the local hangouts. We went to Union Street to eat and shop, to Valencia Street for Mexican food, to Clement Street for Chinese food, To make a long story short, DENNIS SHOULD RUN FOR MAYOR BECAUSE HE SOLD SAN FRANCISCO TO US. By the way, we stayed all 3 days.
Great hotel in a bad location

Wonderful little hotel with nice amenities, friendly staff and comfy beds. Enjoyed it and, using Lyft or the streetcar right out the front door, we were able to explore the city with ease.
Front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. As always, the masks and large lobbies made it hard to hear much but we got it done.
Danny at the front door was nice, professional, helpful and always there to help us start the day on a positive note. My daughter and I really appreciated it!
Now for the bad - the location. It’s in the middle of the tenderloin and homeless are on every street and corner. It’s sad and depressing. But that’s how it is so be prepared.

I cannot say enough about how gracious and helpful Tatiana is at guest reception. It was my first stay at the Proper and I had a few hiccups at check in - but Tatiana eased each of my concerns and took care of everything. I will most certainly be back at my earliest convenience.
