Not worth the money

Reviewed 12 september, 2021

Host was very unfriendly and he was obviously not happy that we arrived around 8 p.m. Dogs were barking all night, wasn't clear if it was customer's dogs or the dogs from the hotel but it was not possible to find sleep. The breakfast was a joke, you can take breakfast from 8-9.30, as a consequence everybody is at the terrasse at the same time and you wait up to 20 minutes for a coffee. The bread was clearly not fresh, or toasted a day ago. Additionally there was a guy working with machines next to the terrasse on Sunday exactly at the time slot when everybody takes breakfast.

A great place to stay and enjoy the outdoors, pool, and excellent breakfast.

The room was clean and comfortable and the outdoor seating excellent for viewing the vineyards and olive trees nearby. Breakfast was very complete with eggs, meats, fruits, pastries, juices, and coffee, all fresh and delicious. The host was very hospitable. It was a short drive to San Gimignano. We enjoyed our stay very much.

A relaxing place after Roms and Florence

A wonderful relaxing time. The owner cooked meal for four of us, even though he did not have too. His previous little son was the waiter who is in training. Great swimming pool, and privacy. The rooms were fabulous with windows that opened to the beautiful country side

One night stay at this Amazing Tuscan Hotel

Reviewed 4 august, 2019

How wonderful it was to arrive and stay at this hotel after the rush and bustle of Rome and Florence. Booked into spacious rooms then down to the pool to cool off. We had booked for dinner and along with an American couple we dined under the stars. Ten year old son helped wait on us which made the night more enjoyable. Food was magnificent. Breakfast in the morning was a huge selection enjoyed outside. Wonderful gardens.

Paradise in the Tuscan Hills

Il Casale del Cotton is in an idyllic location, approx 2 km from San Gimignano. We stayed as a family of 4 in two rooms for one night only and wished we could have extended our stay. The hotel has a unique and relaxed atmosphere, you feel as though you are there as a family guest rather than a paying customer and Alessandro and his team provide great service with minimal fuss. The pool, with sun loungers and a small pool bar was exactly what was needed after an afternoon sight seeing - we would highly recommend Alessandro's Aperol Spritz - the best we had on the whole holiday! Lovely breakfast on the outside terrace with a good choice of hot and cold food and great coffee. The only negative was not being able to enjoy dinner at the Villa as we had read that it was a special experience, but hadn't pre-arranged. We had to drive out for dinner as the taxis were in short supply, naturally given the location, and very pricey. We had read other reviews which quoted 10 euros for a taxi to San Gimignano but we were told 60 euros for a round trip. I would recommend others visiting to contact Alessandro in advance regarding dinner, this is one place you will not want to leave.
