False start

Reviewed 28 december, 2019

Throughout my long trip in Mexico I have been praising all the staff at the places I have chosen to stay. At Don Cenobio I ran out of luck on that subject. The only discordant note was struck by one female receptionist who came up to show me an alternate room with a sullen face and a put upon mood Management should train her and ask her to: a). Make eye contact b). Smile c). Politely greet the customer. Everybody else was helpful with a special mention and thanks to the bell boy who doubles as the waiter. I asked for another room because the town was having a week long Christmas celebration right outside my room. The room I was shown on the third floor walk up had a lethal smell so the first night I was kept awake by the loud festivities at night and the loud birds at dawn. The password in the room for the wifi was outdated. The safe box was locked so I had to ask the staff to come up and open it. The second room I finally took on the second floor faced the courtyard and was much quieter but should have been offered to me on the day I arrived. The location is a plus and the grounds are pleasant.

Nice Option For A Mitla Stay

Reviewed 4 june, 2019

Mitla is worth a visit and a stay if you have the time. The ruins are unique and spread through a good part of the town - right in the middle of town. Also, Matatlán, the center of Mezcal is right down the road. Hotel Hacienda Don Cenobio is right on the municipal square and seems to be the highest end option to stay. It was clean and comfortable, painted in bright, festive colors with lots of seating around the pool and gardens. the room was relatively large, with a nice seating area outside, facing the garden. Not sure what the other options are in Mitla, but this is a comfortable one.

Beautiful place!

We stayed here for one night, but the hotel made a very good impression. The property is more of an old Mexican Hacienda, with a beautiful garden and pool in the center, with the guest rooms around the outside. We found the units to be nice, but a little dated, but the hotel was very quiet and restful. It is located right across the street from the central plaza which is being renovated at the moment but when done should be great to attend events and community events. We look forward to returning to see more of the Zapotec Ruins!

Nice place for friends get togather!

Hotel Metropolitan opened in new location on Sh. Zayed Road. Don Corleone is old restaurant opened in new London. It is very nice restaurant perfect for a great meet up with friends and very nice meel. Good service. Friendly staff. Lasagne is absolutely sumptuous. Calamari, antipasty n Burrata were all very good with good size potions. Can easily be shared. Reasonably priced it is very good choice for a friends or a family or business outing. Highly recommended .

Plesantly surprised.

The hotel is best in town and very affordable. Our room was at ground level with reasonable space for the bed, an office desk and a seating area and had a good sized storage cabinet. The ensuite bathroom was quite compact.. The hotel has a large and attractive courtyard with pool and seating area, and a small restaurant (closes at 7 PM). Connected to the hotel is a very spacious hall that sometimes is used for parties and conferences but otherwise serves as a luxurious parking for the hotel guests.
