We stayed 2 nights. Upon leaving we realized someone stole our catalytic converter and cut our O2 sensor. While waiting to file a report the staff was nice enough to give us arcade credits to keep our kids occupied. However we found out our car was undrivable and no rental places open. GUESS WHAT they’re not responsible for anything so we’re currently sitting by the back door with no way home. No accommodations for a room and no credit to stay anywhere else. We’re over 3 hours away from home with 8 kids and no where to go 🥴

Rough weekend

We went to celebrate a late Christmas with my two bio kods and their sister and her mom. Yay! Our excitement and enjoyment diminished at every turn. Rashes from chemicals in the water, gross food, dismal selection at build a bear where staff claimed they werent allowed to set out new inventory, glitches in the magi quest game, and poor food service with apps not working properly. My daughter aged 4 and I both had itchy painful reactions to the kiddie pool area, and my son aged 7 ended up with an ear infection even with preventative measures. Picture of my arm, but my legs and my daughters legs and torso were covered in red blotchy rash that developed after swimming.

Worst park we’ve been to
Opinión escrita el 14 de enero de 2023
GW Sandusky is a hard pass. We’ve done a water park EVERY January for the last 10 years. This is our first and last visit to GW Sandusky. My guess is they are making easy (BIG) money during the warm months on Cedar Point traffic so they have no motivation to improve. Our room (a pricy Wolf Den) is next to the kitchen vents apparently. It’s loud and literally vibrates like there’s a semi idling below it. They did offer us another room, but we checked in at midnight and the kids had already started unpacking - we weren’t in the mood to gamble on another room on another floor. The park is small with grossly insufficient seating. There are three tables and those are literal picnic tables. Outside of those and four cabanas (that are on an upper level and not practical if you have smaller kids in the park), there are mesh chairs - and you’ll be lucky to get one of those without camping outside the doors before they open. That means you’re sitting in a chair holding all the towels, all the kids clothes and shoes, any food you might purchase, and, if you have a drink, it has to sit in the floor. Needless to say, we have major buyers’ remorse. In this area, I recommend Kalahari. Abundant seating that includes tables and chairs.

Never again!

The rooms are filthy! Found snot, blood, urine and feces on the bathroom wall. The curtain was torn from the rod on one end. Had long black hair strands inside my pillowcase. I have red hair. The halls were littered with pizza boxes and empty cups. Breakfast was such a disappointment! Could have gone to a local restaurant and had much better food. Lack of enough places to sit near the pools as everyone “saves” their chair by laying a towel over it, which then forces you to rent lockers. Two elevators for the entire complex? Stupid! The bed pillows were the worse I’ve ever experienced in any hotel stay, in all my years. Different sizes and level of firmness. The pillows must have been an afterthought.

Great family fun!

Overall, we had a wonderful time! However, I was charged for 3 towels even though I returned them. A $48.04 charge appeared on my card and I called the lodge and they refunded my money which was a relief. But, I find the towel policy really strange. We frequent waterpark hotels and I’ve never seen anything like it. $15 per towel if not scanned in with your wristband? It’s a pain to scan for towels and then have to go back to return them afterwards. Also, they need more elevators. The two they have are very slow and VERY busy. We walked the stairs when we could to avoid the crowds. We were on the 4th floor so we slept very well. I would recommend asking for the top floor for your stay. My daughter got to see Santa during our stay and that was really magical! He was the “real” Santa and took his time with each child. I also would not recommend the breakfast. We had to wait 20 minutes and the food was not very good. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from that are much cheaper. I would recommend a stay especially since we booked under a discount. Of course, the kids wanted the $80 package each so that was costly but does keep the kids busy and happy.
