Toilets don’t work/ Rude Management

Room toilet ran all night long, by morning it won't flush. Told the office front manager. She comped our valet (45.00) but won't budge on any discount on the room. She then offered me a drink coupon and her business card and said as a courtesy to me (lol) I should call her next time I come and she might be able to help me more. She switched the room but the new room had that same problem. I didn't notice the running of the toilet until it was too late in the evening. I did not want maintenance coming in the room that late. When I checked out and told her that the second room had the same problem, she said "A lot of our guest have said the same thing." Through this whole situation, she was rude, dismissive and won't listen to my concerns. Continued to talk over me and kept reminding me that she had solved the problem with the complimentary valet. I went there to sleep. I didn't sleep. I didn't go there for free parking. They don't seem to understand they are in the hospitality business.

Great Location, Great for Family

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean, affordable and in a great location. The staff was so friendly, from valet to housekeeping. My son had the best time in the pool every evening. We will definitely return next time we are in Santa Cruz!

Disappointing

I called so many times and was given the run arounds. They kept saying someone will call me back and I have not received any call back and it has been 6 days already. I’m very upset the way this is handled. I’ve stayed at the Hilton many times and each time they exceded my expectations. Hyatt did not have the same service. I like to take my family on little weekend getaways often and I think I will be skipping the Hyatt from now on.

Sharp item sticking out of sofa bed that my daughter cut her leg on; room wasn’t ready ; ac didn’t work at first ; bathroom dirty; not enough bedding. Only good part was the respect from the valet employees.

Nice hotel in decent location, but price is high for what you get

The hotel, room, and bathroom were clean. The valet staff were very nice. The front desk staff were not overly friendly. We asked about getting a cheaper published rate, but staff was dismissive and said I would have had to call before the reservation started. The free breakfast is nice, but a little underwhelming. The bed and pillows were clean, but could have been more comfortable. It would also be nice to have the fan on auto instead of manual. Once the air turned off it would get warm also. Throughout the night you can hear people's doors closing loudly, but was nice and quiet otherwise. There is no self parking. The hotel is walkable to downtown and the boardwalk, but it can be a decent walk so be prepared. We stayed in room 220.
