Superb Hotel
Without a doubt this is one of the best hotels in Madeira Island! I've stayed here twice with my partner and we can't wait to go back. As always, the staff was wonderful and very friendly, making us feel incredibly welcome. I highly recommend you book this hotel!
Excellent Hotel
Great hotel to stay with your family, wonderful staff, great conditions, top traditional food, breathtaking landscape !!! don´t miss the opportunity to find this treasure!! Thank you for the hospitality
Well done
Classic hotel with an excellent setting,a well provided breakfast and a good restaurant. We had dinner twice and the food was impeccable. The heated pool was very pleasant. The rooms are comfortable with enough amenities. The team is well trained.
A truly excellent stay
A place that truly lived up to its splendid reviews - comfortable, wonderful views, excellent food and excellent service. We look forward to being able to a return when life returns to “normal” and we can travel again.
Lovely place!
Stayed over Christmas 2020 for 5 nights as family (2 adults + 6 year old) Booked directly via the website for Jr Suite, but where upgraded to Suite by hotel, w/o me even asking for this..! As we arrived straight from airport after taking the test, they promptly asked us to stay in room for the 1st evening and night, and we got dinner delivered into room (very sumptuous!) . We got test results by 7am next morning and happily joined the breakfast. The room was spacious and nice layout, albeit nothing special for the Suite experience, per say, I would suggest they do renovation and modernizations of Suites at some point. There is extra heating available and we turned that on to maximum, as it was chili and windy outside. The territory around the hotel is very beautiful and manicured, so the path between hotel and restaurant building is always nice one to take. The breakfast was very nice all the days, but especially on Christmas morning. We did booked the half-board plan, which I don't do usually, but the price on their website was so attractive so that we said "whatever", if we don't like, we just skip it. It appears to be an ultra flex model, with some days just choosing what you want a'la carte, and some days with tasty menu available and also possible to mix & match. Food was always tasty, including the festive dinner on Christmas Evening. The food is not complex, neither particularly gourmet, but always fresh and tasty. Hotel personnel did some good suggestions on where to go around and some other questions (we have been before on Madeira, so it was easy to ask what we need). The parking on front of the hotel is super large and easy - which is in fact rare on Madeira. For my little one the most memorable experience was to visit their very own bread bakery, witness how the bread is baked in huge stone oven and we even bought one for us as the special extra - that was outstanding..! I must say that all staff through hotel and restaurant was superb in service, knowledge, attitude and friendliness..! Few small things on the dev side: - Suites would benefit from remodeling - Internal pool wasn't warm enough - Not enough water in room, had to go and buy outside (but very lovely chocolates every evening before sleep..!!!) On the surprise side, upon return from Christmas dinner, we found a gift from the hotel in room, sweet and delicious - we were not expecting at all..!! Would definitely stay again - and great to be on the cliffside, far away from cities!
