Aqui nos reunimos algunos amigos. Unos se quedaban en este hotel y otros no. Era un buen punto de reunión. El servicio al cliente no es una de las mejores particularidades de este lugar. Sin embargo su ubicación, confort y seguridad opaca cualquier mención negativa.

Es muy grande, tiene muchas salas para eventos, la recepción no es linda, tiene muchísimos cuadros muy lindos. Afuera una gran estructura de metal da origen a un gran comedor. La pileta es circular y muy linda. El personal en general no atiende muy bien. El desayuno es completo, frutas, variedades de panes, jamón y queso y muchos saladitos tipicos de Brasil. Jugos regionales y tortas dulces, no había yogur. La limpieza de la habitación deja a desear. Dos veces tuve que reclamar toallas, las tenía que tirar al piso para que cambiaran y no las reponían. La habitación era amplia, moderna y linda, con una muy linda vista al río, al puerto y a los jardines y pileta. Almorzamos varias veces en el restaurant de la pileta, la comida era buena y la atención. Una tarde que fuimos a la pileta el agua estaba verde, llena de verdín y muy sucia, fui a reclamar en la recepción y contestaron que no había cloro en toda la ciudad. también los ascensores andaban muy mal y varias veces uno de ellos estuvo fuera de servicio. Daba miedo subirse y quedar encerrado. Algo más a destacar, en muchos bares, restaurantes y en el hotel también, es común que digan que se quedaron sin este o aquel ingrediente, o bebida y no pueden prepárate el plato que está en el menú. Falta de previsión.

Buenas instalaciones pero muy mala atención de su personal. Conserjes y restaurante de piscina indiferencia total. Buen desayuno. El Wi-fi anda muy mal en todo el hotel. Buena limpieza, luminoso...pero extraña la mala predisposicion del personal

This hotel is absurdly outdated. There has been no effort to invest for decades, and the management is totally negligent. There are so many small details that could be improved without money, and even the staff tell you that management is incompetent. Internet falls all the time and in my three days there it was more often down than up. The TV took two days to be fixed. I asked the restaurant for something quick and they informed me that they would not be able to produce anything in under 45 minutes. The front desk staff is friendly but forgetful and quick to say that they have no solution. And if you stay here don't forget to bring your own shampoo, they don't give you any. On the positive side, there is a large and attractive pool. But if you are going to stay in Santarém you should check out the alternatives. I don't know if there are better hotels there, but this is the worst hotel I have stayed in out of dozens that I have visited in Brazil on the past few years.

Pretty good for two very short nights

My stay at the Barrudada was rather extraordinary. I came for a quick project visit along Rio Tapajos, arriving at the hotel at 2:20 am just to leave for the field at 6:30. We came back at 9 pm the same night and left the hotel again soon after midnight. On the first night, the check-in was extremely efficient and I could actually sleep for over three hours in the room. It was a large, clean and somewhat barren room with a king-sized bed. The A/C was powerfully blasting cold air into the room, so that it felt a bit like being in a fridge. The A/C didn't go off when I left, so when I returned in the evening, the room was equally cold. On the second night, after a shower and a quick rest, I went down to the pool bar for a bite and a drink. The area was big and comfortable. I wish I could have stayed there for the following day. I ordered a caipirinha, which was very good. When I would have been ready for a second one, I was told that the bar was closed at 10:30 but beer was available. The food quite passable -- I ordered a meat stew and my colleague had fish -- and the portions were large. Unfortunately, I never the saw the hotel in daylight. It was located on high ground but I was not able to see the view. It was also a bit removed from the main street along the river where the action is. It is many years since I'd been to Santarem before this and the city has grown. Such a large establishment like the Barrudada didn't exist before.
