Good for Pilgrims !!!!
Reviewed 10 october, 2016
The stay was really nice in between the airport of santiago and the cathedral. It is easy access with buses and you have some restaurants and bars nearby. I was on pilgrimmage and I can say that it was really quick to get there and then leave. Really nice place and clean.

Outside of Santiago in the town of San Lazaro, this hotel provides good basic rooms with public bus access to Santiago and the airport. You'd save yourself a walk of about 45 mins to an hour taking the bus. Buses come every 20 minutes per hour. Cost of room around 35 Euros per night, comparable to hotels on the camino route. Comfortable rooms with great Italian restaurant across the street. Helpful, polite staff. Not many other good options for dining. Walls are thin and snoring can be heard from the room next door. Not a problem if you are already used to snoring sounds from walking the camino. If you want atmosphere, then the old city of Santiago de Compostela is your best option. This is very much your transit hotel. Either stay here after a long day walking and head out to Santiago first thing the next morning (very short walk), or walk here, dump your back pack, go into old city, attend pilgrim mass and come out to hotel to sleep. The great thing is that the airport bus passes the hotel. Be aware though that the bus can get very crowded as all the pilgrims board it at Santiago. Airport bus costs around 3 Euros. City buses cost around 1 Euro.

Slept there for 2 nights...hotel is on a busy road but had a room at the back, rooms are fine bathroom as wel to go to the town centre is about 20 minutes with the bus line 6 ...at a short distance up the road there is the Centro Comercial As Cancelas a big airconditioned shopping centre top level food court worth a visit......best thing about San Jacobo is the garage where you can park your motorbike. ....staff not very interested and cheerful more busy with the coffee shop.

Cheap hotel in a walking distance from bus station
Reviewed 9 july, 2015
Hotel nice, cheap and having all essential things. Located on the entrance to the center approximetly 30 min. walk to the old town and 15 min. to the bus station. In sorrunding few small restaurants, and big shopping mall. There is a airport bus stop just in front of the hotel. I was happy to stay there but on the other hand I was after one week of trekking. The only black mark was a real rooster walking you up at 6.

€40/night. Fresh squeezed oj n cafe con leche..tobaco shop where you can top off yourOrange phone usage and buy stamps for postcards. Pan and sweet rolls for b'fast..no eggs but gr8 fresh squeezed oj. Helpful staff with local info. A welcome site to see n clean when you enter Santiago for tired bodies and feet. Not a 5 star...stay @ the parador if you need that. Will stay there for our last day here b4 train back to Madrid..has been a Buen Camino-.-
