Not clean, therefore, not worth the Marriott price

Reviewed 5 august, 2022

I should have read the reviews more carefully before selecting this hotel. I’ve stayed at other SpringHill Suites and didn’t think too much. When we arrived there is a sign that they don’t have staff and to leave dirty towels and trash out before checking out. About 4 guests came in while I was checking in to ask for towels or pillows only to be disappointed. When we got to our room, the shower handle wasn’t working properly so it couldn’t get hot water. There was no extra sheets for the pullout. My daughter was laying on the bed and she said she saw a spider - I thought she was joking at first. I turned the sheets down and saw some debris. Opened up and found spiders crawling on filthy sheets. Front desk told me only room left to switch doesn’t hand wash cloths. I got out and checked into the Courtyard down the street. I’ve stayed at not so nice places before but I did not expect this from SpringHill and I’ve never seen spiders crawl on the filthy bed at any hotel ever. Very disappointed.

Where do I start

Reviewed 3 august, 2022

Where do I start? Checked in later in the day as overnight on the way north. Check in was with a trainee and she illegibly wrote WI-FI code so had to go back to desk, then found out carpeting was soaked due to leaking a/c, so a room change. Had originally asked to for a quieter room but 2nd room was on highway side and noisy and carpet wet around bed under window. Both slept in inner bed which was lumpy and uncomfortable. Shower was low pressure as much of the water came from tub faucet and filled it while showering. This room was cleaner than first room. Breakfast was gross, coffee terrible, but the banana was good. Marriott should be ashamed of themselves and being a bonvoy member can’t even get you a decent room. I will think twice before I stay in another Marriott. You used to be known as quality, but not anymore.

Airport shuttle driver gets 1 star

Reviewed 28 may, 2022

We had a disturbing experience with an inconsiderate, rude shuttle bus driver. We called the Front Desk mid-morning to request the airport shuttle bus for noon. When the driver arrived [from next door?], he promptly jumped into the driver’s seat. I opened the sliding door of the van and climbed into the second seat row while my husband waited outside at the rear of the van for the driver to load our bags. A couple of minutes passed with no movement from the driver. Finally, my husband stuck his head in the sliding door of the van and asked the driver if he was going to load the bags. His reply: “No, you can go ahead.” In disbelief, my husband opened the rear doors of the van, loaded our bags and closed the doors. Then he climbed into the van and closed the sliding door since the driver made no move to get out of the driver’s seat. When we arrived at the airport, the reverse happened: he remained in the driver’s seat while my husband opened the sliding door, we climbed out, my husband opened the rear doors and unloaded our bags. As a retired flight attendant with 25 years of service, I have ridden in literally hundreds of airport shuttle vans. Never did I have such an arrogant, inconsiderate van driver. He should find another line of work since he is ill-equipped to be a courteous van driver.

Marriott should be ashamed

I gave this hotel 2 because of the very pleasant staff. The hotel is drab and dingy. Our room was in need of repairs from dinged furniture to broken tub plumbing. The pillows were like rocks and the mattress was mushy. The bathroom was a mess with dirty tile and grout and the shower had black mold in the caulking and wall. My wife was afraid to take a bath because the floor of the tub looked groody There were no luggage carts for us older folks. There were no security cameras at the side entrances.

Awful Hotel-Need of Major Renovation

Reviewed 1 april, 2022

I stayed here one night on 3/31/22. I had previously booked at the Springhill Suites at exit 94 in Savannah and they called me at 1PM to tell me they were moving me to this location because of a water issue in a few rooms. I think they were overbooked. The Springhill Suites needs to be remodeled. The room smelled. The bed felt like I was sleeping on foam. The pillows were awful. The couch was uncomfortable. There was a breakfast but I just took the coffee since I brought my own breakfast. I would never recommend this hotel. I have to stay the staff was nice.
