Akzent chain nice
This hotel is now one of the Akzent chain hotels, and is pretty good. Although the room settings and parking etc gives a feel of a kind of motel, but the place is very nice. Rooms are comfortable and spacy - but no in-room coffee/tea making possibility. The restuarant was excellent - both for dinner and for the fantastic breakfast. Nice location overseeing water and marina, very friendly staff, and good over all atmosphere - highly recommended.
Wonderful hotel at the bay
We stayed there with a group; bus could park easily. Check-in worked fine, and the rest was all good. This is a wonderful hotel bc of its location, just 4 minutes to the bay/beach/harbor. You can walk from there to downtown within 10 minutes, very pleasant walk through the park. Beautiful rooms, with mostly good views out onto the bay (need to be a room in the upper floor). No elevator, so you have to carry our own suitcase. Breakfast sumptuous and very nice. Hotel has its own restaurant, half outside, very beautiful for summer. Wifi worked ok, slow, depending on where you were sitting in the room. I needed a meeting room and got it with no problem; thank you.
Perfect
We stayed here one night as a sleep over on our way to Sweden. The staff is very friendly. We had a room with a view on the water and it was a gorgeous setting. Balcony to sit on, which was clean and clean furniture. The room itself was very clean and really nice. We also had dinner in the hotel and all was well, apart from the potatoes serves with the meal which were way too greasy. The breakfast is REALLY good !!! One of the best we ever had in a hotel.
Nice stay, but a cold welcome...
The first time we stayed here was last year, and our overall impression then was great. Location of the hotel is great, close to the water. The rooms as well as public areas are cosy and welcoming with a nice touch of details. The restaurant and breakfast is excellent with something for everyone. This year our impression stays the same, except our check-in which was not what you should experience as a guest. No "Welcome" or "Guten Tag", just a cold "Hallo". Then a little too long explanation how we should introduce us, to make it easier for him to find our reservation. No matter the reason, the gentleman behind the desk didn´t behave professional. His behaviour can actually make customers leave the hotel there and then.

Have a room with balkon - sit there - enjoy the view over the "Schlei" - the quietness - enjoy good food and service - have a walk to the harbor and the old town.= No Stress :-). Sitting in a "Strandkorb" - have a good "Alsterwasser" - and "Fischsushi" = Lifestyle in Schleswig-Holstein :-).
