Not a 4 star Hotel
Stayed one night on my way to Berlin. Hotel is quite a way out of town up in the hills. Good for hiking but you need your car to go into town. Rooms average and facilities a bit worn. However, having said that, the price was reasonable and of a 3 star rate so I can't complain. Imagine that this is more a conference hotel. The town of Schmalkalden, with its 'old center' is certainly worthy of a visit. Beautiful half timbered houses as well as an impressive church to view and it has reformation history with Martin Luther being a resident for a time.
Decent mid range hotel
I stayed here for one night. I took the smallest room and it was indeed very small, but the rate was reasonable. The room was neat and there is a very nice sauna area. The attached restaurant is also excellent. The staff was friendly en helpful. They also spoke good English.
Very good and nice hotel.
Very nice hotel. Friendly personal. Good and nice room with good bed. Sauna and swimming pool as well. Very quiet during the night. Good restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was als good. Not so easy to find. It is situated on top of a hill with ice view.
sehr schönes Hotel
Wir haben unser jährliches Wellnesswochenende diesmal in diesem Hotel verbracht. Es war ein sehr schönes Hotel und die Zimmer sind geräumig. Das Personal war zum Teil sehr nett. Leider gibt es immer wieder Mitarbeiter, die das nicht sind. Wir wurden sehr unhöflich empfangen, mussten auch sehr lange warten, dass wir auf unser Zimmer kommen konnten. Obwohl sie schon fertig waren und wir auch erst 16 Uhr im Hotel waren. Das gleiche "Spiel" bei Abreise! Das Frühstücksbuffet und das Abendessen waren sehr lecker. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft. Insgesamt war es sehr schön.
Enkelwochenende
Von Freitag bis Sonntag verbrachten wir mit unserem 3 jährigen Enkel ein wunderbares Wochenende im Hotel und Umgebung. Das Personal, besonders im Restaurant, war umsichtig und unterstützte uns, um auch den Kinderwünschen gerecht zu werden. Die Einhaltung der corona Regeln wurden konsequent umgesetzt. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es gibt viele interessante Ausflugsziele und Gelegenheiten für Sport und Kultur. Wir kommen bestimmt noch einmal wieder.
