King Suite- Rm 1008- perfect for our mini-honeymoon

Reviewed 16 january, 2022

My husband and I had to cancel our plans to honeymoon in Europe. So we kept it simple and decided to visit Seattle (from SF Bay Area)- my first time. We originally booked a standard room but called a day before our arrival to ask to be upgraded and if we can have an early check-in since we arrived at 9:30. Tom was so nice to offer us a complimentary upgrade as well as early check-in. Arriving and check-in was smooth and easy. The room was super spacious. The King bed is huge, comfy and cozy. The layout is a little unconventional with the tub and the shower in one room and the toilet and sink in a separate room. But most importantly, they were clean. Even though we were on the 10th floor there was some street noise but not anything intolerable. Our room was at the end of the hall so it was very quiet and didn’t hear other guests. Location is great. We walked to most places and used Uber/Lyft to explore further. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay. The staff was super nice and accommodating. We wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay. Thanks for making our stay special and for the upgrade!

Services need improvement despite covid and bad weather

Reviewed 11 january, 2022

Everyone in hospitality should be given a bit of a pass for hiccups in the system & one can not expect perfection under covid circumstances. However, we stayed in this hotel for a week, and yes there was an unusual snow event in Seattle that week which the city was ill prepared to face. However, for the full week, we never once had our room serviced by housekeeping. That we were ok with under the circumstances, but having to ask three times, in a face to face request with the front desk, to get new towels & toiletries showed a lack of customer care. We finally received these goods, the night before we checked out. We upgraded our room to the largest king room available because the original king bed room was way too small for 2 people. We had to rearrange furniture to make it livable with our suitcase, and my wife had to climb over me to get out of the bed. Consider the square footage before you book. The initially booked room was very uncomfortable for two people. We were bummed that the restaurant was closed. Seemingly permanently. The coffee shop "Made" was open intermittently if they had the labor to run the shop. The hotel itself is wonderfully renovated from what is likely a 100 year old building. Even in the Covid era on top of a snow storm, we expected better services from this property. We would likely give it a second chance in time.

We will be back

Reviewed 2 january, 2022

Very nice, clean, affordable hotel that has a great location in downtown. Loved the traditional/contemporary decor. We stayed and attended a concert at the Moore Theater and we walked to the theater and to restaurants nearby. We did use valet parking and only took the truck when we went shopping at southcenter. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Location Excellent Hotel

Reviewed 31 december, 2021

We ended up driving to Seattle to pick up our son from his international flight and make it a quick getaway. After a super long drive involving a snowstorm and sketchy roads, we were happy for the Hotel Theodore’s 24-hour check-in on our two day stay. The $50 parking was steep but it was great knowing the car was well looked after. You have the option of parking next door for about $33 ish, but we were tired and just wanted to be done. The location of the hotel actually can’t be beat. Pike Place Market is just a few blocks / 5 mins walk away and even in snowy and icy conditions, it was a quick walk down a well trafficked road. The monorail, which is basically right next door, takes you directly to the Space Needle and back for $6 round trip a person. The Hotel Theodore exudes a high class, very safe feel. It is also well maintained and it kept the turn of the last century vibe. The king room was the perfect size for the two of us and it was a bonus to have a fridge and a Nespresso machine in the room. The beds were very comfortable and warm. Everything felt clean and well cared for. If I was going to suggest how it could be even better, I would suggest adding a mirror by an outlet outside the bathroom to do hair while your partner is in the shower, but seriously it’s not a deal breaker by any means. The hotel is set up with a text thread and anything you need you just text them and they respond and bring it right away. So convenient! No calling or waiting. So genius. We only intended to stay 2 nights and drive home when our son landed, but since another snowstorm was heading our way we extended our stay. It was very easy to do and we were thankful. But that meant we needed an extra bed. The hotel offered a self regulating air mattress with USB, perfect for a teen. He thought it was very comfortable and enjoyed his night. I would not recommend sleeping 3 adult sized people in a king room long term as the rooms are quite small for that, but it was perfect for one night. I don’t have a bad thing to say about this hotel, and if we ever visit Seattle again, we will be staying here again.

Wonderful Hotel

Reviewed 29 december, 2021

We recently stayed here and the hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. The concierge was especially helpful. There is also a parking garage just a few steps away which made our trip less stressful. I would recommend staying here.
