We stayed in room 16 for two nights. Could not have been better - quiet, spacious, comfortable, very clean, well furnished and maintained. Fantastic sea views. Food was excellent and all of the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. One of the best hotels we have stayed in.
What more can you want.

Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms and a fantastic coastal view from the superior room with balcony. In good position close to Rylstone Gardens and Shanklin Old Village. What more can you want! Well deserved recipient of a 2021 Red Funnel silver award for best hotel experience.
Very good hotel, but definitely not an excellent one.

I have booked this hotel for our half-term family holidays, as I found it as one of the best accommodation options in this part of island. The hotel is very good indeed and there are many positives about it, like location, clean rooms, very polite staff, tasty breakfasts (served in a Grand View restaurant with a great view, indeed) and swimming pool - just to mention a few. We were generally pleased with our staying there. However I was rather disappointed with our "family room", as it was nothing similar to the pictures you can find here and the only view we could see from our windows was the group of sheds where the staff was accommodated, in the hotel's inner yard. There was no noise problem, however we had to close the windows several times due to a cigarette smoke (and the hotel allegedly applies no-smoking policy). I should also add that wifi connection was very poor - it is nothing I consider as a major factor, however it is important if you are on holidays with with teenagers and want to keep them happy.
Beautiful hotel in a spectacular setting

We had a room with a king size bed and bunks. Our 7yo son loved the bunk bed. It was cleverly built to tuck him away a bit when he went to bed. We enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and loved gazing out to sea and counting all the ships going past. We had a good evening meal in the restaurant and a delicious breakfast. All in all a great combination of style and luxury with family-friendliness and a warm, personal welcome. Top marks.

After 2 cancellations due to lockdown it was lovely to be back, spotless room with a seaview, good choice of breakfast and fab evening meals. Standards were as good as they always were. We will be back again.
