Rest with big family in Monte Carlo Sharm

We rested at the hotel with a large company. In general, we were satisfied with everything. A great place to relax with the family, as there is also a kids club, slides and a children's pool. A variety of animation shows will be interesting for people of different ages. We have participated in entertainment from a great animation team many times. They tried their best both in the morning and in the evening to leave the visitors in a great mood. Also, we really liked the reef. It can be seen that the hotel tried to find a good place, because after swimming with a mask, only positive emotions remained. We saw many beautiful fish and plants. Even small children liked it. The territory of the hotel is very large, very beautiful landscape where you can take wonderful photos. The only thing I didn’t like was that there were not many napkins in the restaurant, which was very important for us, as small children often get dirty. And because of the lack of napkins, I had to go around and ask for them from other vacationers or hotel staff. But the food is delicious and varied. For each meal, a person can choose something to his liking, which he is used to and loves. Drinks at the bar can be ordered an unlimited number of times, while the bartender will be able to pour you any favorite drink. Also, I really liked the fresh juices on the bar, which are given every morning. I especially liked the fresh mango. In general, we were very pleased with the rest and we recommend this place for rest to everyone.

I hate writing the negative reviews but unfortunately it’s going to be one of those. As much I tried to find anything positive about this place - there were not much. It might well be that my review is influenced by the type of the holiday - we are not big fans of all inclusive beach resorts. Unfortunately due to circumstances Egypt was the only place for us to travel and after reviewing the number of hotels we decided to go for this one (price/quality consideration) - the hotel was mentioned as top 10 in many reviews I have checked (in the past it was Ritz Carlton which added to our decision making) If I start with positive - it’s a beach front hotel with well maintained garden. It has its own reef and small beach. That is probably it with positive. The reef is small and has only one access point (vs announced 3) - one was demolished and one is only accessible to Royal Monte Carlo adults only section. So as a result it’s overcrowded and not fun. The hotel is old, like really OLD. It was built in 1999 and if it was ever refurbished - probably long time ago too. The rooms were good sized and in general ok but the bathroom was very old and weird (we were not able to close the door of the WC as the legs were sticking out while on the toilet). The airco system was very loud and old, the bed linens were very old and unpleasant. The other facilities were old too. One of the reason to choose this hotel was free tennis courts. The courts were there but so old that it was dangerous to use them with metal pins sticking out of concrete. The hotel though wanted to charge us $20 per hour if those were used after sunset. The water slides were probably painted recently but the paint ended up on kids bodies after one use. The pools were ok but nothing extraordinary. The WiFi was unstable and not 2021 standard. SPA was ok but again - very old. The hotel targets big tour groups and you would expect the animation to be on top. But it was not the case. Loud music and standard stuff with no creativity - aqua gym, Zumba and yoga, nothing at all for kids and random not eye catching evening entertainment. Well, you might think the food and drinks would make up for that. But again - no. The hotel claimed to be under Ultra All Inclusive concept which assumes (I googled) that all premium non-local drinks to be included. Well, apparently not here. Here it means that the food is serviced 24 hours (nearly) but what and how is a different topic. Drink (local only) were undrinkable - except for water. Food - not only repetitive (I can eat repetitively good food) but also awfully presented and just tasteless. Same stuff every day, and through the day. No seafood, no any themed dinners. The a-la carte restaurants kind of better but there you were only offered fixed menu that was lacking basic stuff (like veggies). I am experienced traveler and understand that there are different places for different budgets. But I don’t know how this place will survive severe post-Covid competition unless they change anything. Maybe consider switching to all inclusive vs UAI and serve less food but better quality but seriously what I have seen was pathetic. At the end I would like to mention that staff is doing their best to fix or address the issues. There were really good people working there. But others were less so - they seemed to be annoyed answering all our queries. So overall - not impressed, even disappointed especially as I was the one recommending this place to other friends who joined us.

Our stay was really nice. We booked one week. There was a hotel worker named Aiman, who was primarily working in the pool restaurant “the waves”. He was really nice and service minded. He really stood out from the other workers because he was always in contact with the guests and always asked if we needed anything. He had a bright smile I never will forget.

We were for the first time in your hotel but we fell in love with it. Great staff everywhere who did their best to make our holiday enjoyable. All people are friendly and helpful. All guys at the reception - top level! Special thanks to Osama. Food in the restaurant always delicious and fresh. Respect for the cook! All waiters are polite, friendly smiling and joking, swift as rockets, especially Bishoy and Shady. Sorry, that we don’t know the names of the others. All are the highest level! We are very grateful to the man who cleaned our room 66 -Ahmet. He not only made us feel comfortable like at home, he always found a good word for us, speaks an excellent English, is very intelligent and interesting to talk with, he has become our friend and told us interesting things about your country and culture. Such people help people to understand each other better. Our special thanks to the gardeners, who are almost invisible, but did great job to make MONTE CARLO one of the most beautiful places in Egypt. They make their work with great love. We will come again, for sure! Thanks to all! We will advise Monte Carlo to all our friends. Volodymyr and Lyudmyla Balbyeko, Ukraine. 3.10. -12.10.2021
