While the accommodations were good, getting a spot on the beach is not good. The Hyatt has claimed all the beach and has left a small section about 40 feet wide at most for all the guest staying in all the locations behind and around it. The owners of the other resorts need to address the issue. I have been coming to Siesta Key for over ten years and this will be my last trip. The issue with the beach was everywhere. People were walking a long ways from both sides of beach area trying to find a spot.

While the location of the hotel was great, the beach access is about a 10 foot strip of sand that everyone from the hotel has to cram in like sardines. The beds is the hotel are horrible and the pool was filthy. (We called management to no avail) The bbq grills are broken almost to the point of being unusable as well. One of them doesn’t even have any knobs. The toilet screeched so loud when it was flushed that it woke my kids up and also while we were using the washing machine the toilet would not work at all. It was ok but for the price it should have been much much better.

Overall, would recommend this place, despite a few cons. The good stuff: The location is great and our room was super clean, with lots of space, a decent kitchen, plenty of towels. The beach is a two-minute walk, and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas available to take with you (just be careful to set up on the narrow strip IN FRONT of all the hotel flags, or you'll get yelled at). The pool is nice, with lots of foliage surrounding it—reminded us of Key West—and there's a good hot tub. The cons: Our room was not ready at check-in time, and the manager and staff seemed overwhelmed. Bath amenities are paltry, so BYO soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. While the rooms are nonsmoking, smoking is allowed on the common verandas and at the pool, so the outdoor space tends to reek of smoke. Worst of all, there's a loud motor outdoors that runs 24/7, like a generator or something. It made our pool time really unpleasant, and it was impossible to sit out on our balcony for long because of the noise (the manager said she was trying to get it fixed). On the plus side, you can use the pool at the hotel across the street, and that's much quieter (although no Key Westian foliage).

We stayed there for 5 nights and one of the nights they was working on the room below us it was so loud it ran us up out the room it also shook the floor when we returned they was still working on the room so we had to sit outside the room until they left around 10 p.m. My friend emailed them about this issue but have not heard back from them. We lost a day of enjoyment of the room and they failed to even tell us they would be working on the room right below us. Other than that it was nice.

Loved the Beach Club and our room was overlooking pool very nice, however, our intentions were to enjoy the No 1 Beach Siesta Key. Once we finally found our access the minute we arrived “the beach patrol lady” stopped us and told us we can not sit there because it was private property on both sides and we had to go pass yellow flags which we obeyed but that section was small and crowded everyone seem to be on top of each other so we left and enjoyed the pool instead which was great. Spoke to another guest she said she experienced the same at the beach. So to say the least, getting some R&R at the beach did not happen at all very disappointing. We booked per beach description of resort.
