Nice Apartment for a few days

Reviewed 15 september, 2020

I'll quickly start with the only downside we experienced in this location: there is quite a busy road outside and sleeping with open windows is not an option thanks to that. On the other hand the AC works well so basically we could keep the windows closed at night. The building has a very nice garden surrounding it and there is a decent parking space in front of the house, parking outside is a bit nightmarish. Our room was very spacious, well maintained and clean and featured a kitchen, which we didn't really use. Bathroom was quite large too and in decent condition. We very much liked the huge balcony to sit in the evening. Walking to the city center took around 10 minutes, 15 to the ferry station to Capri and 5 to the nearest restaurant and shop. All in all a place I'd recommend.

Exactly what we needed in Sorrento

This place was perfect for us. The room and the bathroom were huge, the kitchenette had everything we needed to cook so we could spend our money on other things, the staff serviced our room everyday, the balcony was huge and the room was very very clean. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk from the town, which was actually really nice. It was great to go walking in the evening, or eat a big dinner and then walk it off on the way home. It’s a lot quieter over this side of the town too, which, at the end of a busy and long day, was exactly what we needed. There’s a great spot for watching the sunset only about 300 meters away, which I highly suggest! The man who checked us in wasn’t overly talkative or anything, but he was friendly, he gave us more than enough info, he even printed our Capri ferry tickets, and allowed us to store our bags for a few hours after checkout. I don’t have one complaint about this place, the price was great for the middle of peak season and we will definitely come back.

Very close to city centre

After I booked the accommodation here I then read the reviews and was really worried. When I arrived we were greeted by the owner on the front balcony he was friendly and showed us where to park the car. The room was big, clean and had a wonderful verandah over looking a garden. We walked everywhere no need for the car which was great. We never had any issues with noise but we did stay in the off peak season. We found an amazing Irish pub called Banana Split where the licensee were so warm and family like and they speak English too. It was so good we went back 2 nights in a row. We also eat there which was yummy and the red wine is fantastic. They have a huge selection of spirits, wines, cocktails and beer. Try one of there signature cocktails OMG delicious

I will tell you that from 7:00 til 18:00 there is street noise. There is a music bar /restaurant just across the street. The music starts around 19:00. I did not get the name and it is not listed on tripadvisor. I walked over and joined them. The food was good and it was just a big party This is not high season and it not hot enough for me to use the AC, but when I closed the doors to the massive veranda and the windows I could not really hear any of this. Having told you all I can think of that is negative I have to add this. I will be back with my wife about the same time next year. I think I had room #4, it was on the first floor at the head of the stairs, remember our second and had a massive veranda, too big to call it a balcony. You could sit in the sun or the shade, your choice for most of the day. A small kitchenette with all the equipment you would need to cook your own meals. About 10-15 minutes will put you in the center of old town. About 5 minutes to the first public overview of the harbor.

Perfect Place from which to explore Sorrento and Amalfi coast

Reviewed 28 september, 2015

Villa Rosa is perfectly situated only a short walk from the centre, we stayed here for 4 days, the house is split up into apartments they are very nice & spacious and air-conditioned, with a bedroom, bathroom & kitchen. For us it was perfect, a place to park the car while we explored the area. Breakfast is provided in the room it’s placed in a basket & must last you your complete stay. I’m not a breakfast person so it didn’t bother me. The owner did give us rather good advice about getting around the area and was very informative There is only one problem with Villa Rosa, the owner. We arrived at about 15:30 parked the car, went to the reception & found a note “I am at the restaurant across the road”. So we went to the restaurant & found the owner, he seemed to have had a few drinks. He came across to the villa & wanted payment immediately for the complete stay, which I found rather unusual, then the payment didn’t go quite well so I decided to pay cash rather than leave my credit card. For the rest of our stay the note remained on the reception & we didn’t see the owner again. Villa Rosa is actually the perfect place to stay when visiting Sorrento.
