A nice stay!
Opinión escrita el 16 de Septiembre de 2021
We have always had a good experience at the GrandStay hotels. The room was clean, welcoming and a comfortable bed! The complimentary breakfast was perfect. The staff was accommodating and helpful. It was placed well for our travels to downtown and also to Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills.
Good Location, Very Good Room

We stayed here for 5 nights and the stay was very good. We had a suite and had plenty of room. We had a bedroom, living room, 3 televisions and a hot tub in our room. The hotel is centrally located and we were able to get around town and back easily. We were able to take day trips to Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, and the Badlands. Parking was plentiful and easily accessible. The breakfast was not the greatest, other wise I would have given 5 stars. I would stay here again if I come this way again.
No, no, no

Other than a convenient location near major roads and low prices, there’s little good to report on this hotel. Here’s our experience over an eight-night stay.
1. SAFETY. On our first night, the battery died on the smoke alarm in our room. Despite our repeated requests, it was never replaced. This has got to be a violation of the most basic hotel safety code.
2. SAFETY AGAIN. A front desk staffer complained to me about guests stealing “everything” from the reception area if he left the front desk for even a minute. This left me feeling unsafe.
3. MORE SAFETY. Someone threw plastic chairs into the swimming pool and no one removed them. Kids were playing and swimming around the chairs.
4. CONNECTIVITY. WiFi had been inoperable for at least a week when we arrived and was only fixed a couple days into our stay.
5. CLEANLINESS. Where to start … a short list of issues included a sticky bathroom floor (disgusting to go barefoot), dirt-encrusted window sills, stained furniture and carpets, stained towels, stained sheets (the worst) and hallways that were never vacuumed while we were there.
6. MISCELLANEOUS. The guest washing machine ate quarters without registering them and wasn’t fixed even after a staff member tried to fix it. The breakfast featured some of the lowest quality food I’ve ever had in an American hotel. The staff left toxic, smelly cleaning products sitting in the elevators and hallways.

After reading the reviews, I was glad we were able to book this hotel, however I was very disappointed.
Pros: Comfortable beds, centrall,y located
Cons: Hotel is very outdated and the third night of our stay there were kids on our floor who ran up and down the hall from 11.pm unti after 12:00 am. I asked them to be quiet and then they knocked on our door several times.
We probably will not stay here again.
Great place to stay in the Rapid City Area

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early June of 2021. I stayed in Rm 204 during my stay.
The hotel is located near I-90 off of Exit 58 I believe. You go about 100 yards before turning left on to Disk Drive and the hotel is about 150 yards down on the right. Just past an IHOP on the right side as well.
Upon entering the main door of the hotel you will find the main reception desk on the right side. You will see a good size sitting area with chair in the lobby. Just follow the tile path to the right and then straight to find the main desk on the right.
Past the main desk you will find the breakfast area where they serve food in the morning. You can make your own waffles with the mix they have and cooker. They also have good orange juice. There are bread, muffins, etc..
Past the main desk you turn right down the hallway and you will a number of vending machines that serve drinks and snacks. The coin laundry are also here. It is $2.50 in quarters for one wash.
Before you turn right down the hallway to the vending machine you will see a small sitting area with a television that is running.
The hotel is 3 story high and has a good size elevator to the left down the hallway from the main desk on the right side. There are also stairs you can take to go up and down. They have rolling carts in the front area where you can use to load your bags and move them up to your room if needed.
Upon entering my room the kitchen area is immediatley to the left. It consist of two electric burner tops, a microwave, a dishwasher, a metal kitchen sink, and regular size refrig that has separate doors for freezer and refrig part. The freezer has an automatic ice maker inside the freezer part that dumps the ice in the ice tray inside but no dispener for it from the outside.
The kitchen has a number of cabinets but there are no pots/pan, dishware, nor any cutlery. Hence you will need to either bring it with you or buy them in the store. Make sense since they do not have to worry about people taking them nor have to clean afterward. There was paper towels available in the cabinets. I almost forgot there is a popup toaster in the cabinet.
There is a very large dinning table that could easily sit 4 people in it but my room has only one bed and hence there was only one chair at the table. There is a large trash can with plastic liner to put your kitchen garbgage in. Past the kitchn is a sitting area. It concists of a good size coach and a sofa chair with a footer. The LCD TV hangs in one corner on the wall. I am guessing about 36 inch in size. There is a very good size window on the back wall of room or sitting area that looks outside.
The bathroom is on the left side as you enter the room. It is spacious enough for two people to move around in it. There is a sink in the middle of a counter top that covers the right side of the bathroom. Plenty of space to lay things out on it. There are some small coplimentary bathroom stuff like shampoo, conditioner, etc.. But no bar of soap.
The toilet is opposite the bathroom door and the tub/shower is on the left side. There are several plastic cups plastic wrapped in the bathroom.
Just past the bathroom on the left is the bedroom with a double bed in it. The room also has its own television situated on the wall in front of the bed. There are bedisde nightstands on both side of the bed with a gsize area to lay things on. Rought 18 inch by 2 feet. There are lamps on both side of the bed. Each lamp has two built in electrical socket you can plug into.
There is amour(closet) where you can hang things in. It comes with about 8 hanges. It also contains extra bed pillows, blankets, and it appears to have bedding for the bed if you need to change it. There is also an iron board and iron.
The bedroom has plenty of space to move around. Between the amour and the bed is about 6 feet. The foot of the bed has 3 feet and the other side of the bed has almost 2 feet.
As I stated earlier there is an IHOP about 50 yards down the road to the left from the hotel. On the same side of the street as the hotel. I walked down the sidewalk to it from the hotel so you can either walk or drive to it. There are other restaurants further dow nthe street. I heard there is a Chilli and Applebee not too far away..
Wifi in the hotel was good from my room. There is a password for it that will be included with the hotel keycard when you get it.
The hotel appearly has a deal with the airport shuttle where they pay for both to and from the airport. You do not need to buy a ticket for it. You just tell the shuttle driver you are going to this hotel and they will take you there at no charge. The hotel will arrange for the pickup with the airport shuttle per your request. It appears to be the only general airport shuttle in Rapid City.
Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel. This hotel would make a lot of sense if you want to eat your own cooking and especially save money if you have a family. Save some money from the restaurantsand be able to snack on anything. Plus with the 2 TVs you sort of avoid that common battle of what to watch on TV as I am sure you know what I mean between the girls and boys or should I say men and women.
