South Padre Gulf Point Condo
The rooms were big and spacious, enough to fit 10-12 people comfortably. The amenities were awesome and easy access to the beach. The swimming pool was awesome as well and BBQ pits everywhere. I do recommend this place for stay.
DO NOT RENT THIS CONDO!!!
We had a really unpleasant experience with this place. As we walked in you trip with an old rug that is folded at the ends making it a hazard for anyone who steps on it. We checked out the place and has very dirty, everything was dusty, that place had not been dusted in a while. The sofa bed was full of sand and the mattress is old and filthy. Springs all over the place. We had charged an additional fee in order to use the pool and gym, it is not included in your reservation. You are only paying for the stay at the condo. You are not allowed to use anything on the premises unless you pay the additional fee that nobody ever mentioned to us until we were there.
Worse Weekend at SPI EVER
We spend the weekend of August 17 2018. We made reservations for 6 people. The pull out sofa bed was gross, my two kids (9 and 11) ended up sleeping with us in a king size bed with my wife and I. The place was old and outdated, no WIFI and if there was, nobody took the time to give us any information. They have a private parking garage (code required), where they have sign after sign stating that you have to go have a parking permit or they will tow your vehicle or lock your tires. they also have signs about a bracelet. it turns out that the reason they want you to get you into their office is to charge you for that bracelet. In our case it was $5 per bracelet, that supposebly you need it in order to be in the premises. I imagine after the code to enter the private parking garage and all the security, why would you need a bracelet? I also notice not many people had the bracelet, so it was a kind of "if they fall for it fine" and unfortunately we did. the balcony rails were loose, my wife ask one of my sons to stand for a picture and when he put his hand on the rail the rail moved (very loose and unsecure specially being in the 3rd floor). my younger boy ended up getting stung my ants while playing catch in the grass area (he ended up with a slight fever that night as a consequence of the ant bites). we notice a lot of sharp ages around the pool and many loose tiles. our boys ended up making a game to see who would find more loose tiles in the pool. the pool bridge very unsecure too, you can see and smell the rotten wood underneath. also, we could not find restroom around the pool area, so I can only guess where everybody pees. the barbecue pit had no ledge to keep the burning coal in place, nothing prevents it from falling to the floor. it's hard to spread the coal in a 12" space and as the coal burns it moves and ends up in the floor without us knowing. my wife got up to serve herself food and a burning coal that had fallen from the pit burn thru her sandle and burned her foot. we left the condo sunday (checkout time 10am) and since then I have not been reimbursed my $200 deposit, it's been 5 days now.
