In short: An awful experience. Do NOT stay at this place

Reviewed 2 august, 2022

In short: An awful experience. Do NOT stay at this place. In general this was a bad experience (see: cons below), but our last night was even worse. On our last night two guys checked in next to our room late at 9 pm and this was the beginning of a long and sleepless night. They smoked weed (the smell seeped through to our room) and played loud music beginning at 10 pm. We went down to ask the hotel manager if this was acceptable and he told us no. Then he went up to the guests and asked them to stop and they stopped for 5 minutes. This pattern continued several times during the night and the last time we went down to the manager was at 6 am in the morning. He miserably failed to stop these two guests from bothering other guests. Due to the very loud music and weed smoke we never fell asleep and our last night in San Francisco was ruined. When we checked out we complained and the hotel manager refused to compensate us. He even escalated the conflict by calling our weed smoking neighbors down to the reception, so we could talk, even though we had nothing to talk about - weird behavior. Cons - Pillows are old and uncomfortable - Interior and appliances are old and worn out - Location is terrible in terms of both public transit and attractions - Their “continental breakfast” consists of coffee, granola bars, oranges, apples, and supermarket danish: not much of a breakfast! - No room service: Like several other hotels the use Covid-19 as an excuse not to clean the room regularly even though you pay full price - Hotel manager: lies to guests and won’t take responsibility for anything Pros - Fine wifi - Free parking

Awful Stay

Reviewed 4 december, 2021

I had stayed at the Inn By the SFO in South San Francisco, CA with my new husband as part of Honeymoon/Vacation. Our first half was in Monterey in which was the best!! This hotel did not have Free Breakfast or Coffee/Tea in the room. I had to go out to Peet's every morning for coffee. There were no maids to clean your room until you actually leave on your last day there. It was not quiet either. Some guy who radomly walked back/forth kept talking on the cellphone all night long for several nights there. The lights throughout the room are sensor lights including where you take a shower. I can understand the other areas with sensor lights, but not that room where you need to shower!!! You would have to wave your arm/hand a lot while showering....stupid!!! I will not stay here ever again.

NEVER AGAIN

Reviewed 23 july, 2021

This place is disgusting. Dirty nasty filthy, towels, bedding and rooms and courtyard. The courtyard so filthy that the garbage started coming in my room. Ask the maid for a broom so I could clean in front of room, but she didn't have one. Maintenance sucks, as there is no keeping the rooms updated and fully functional. Had stained carpets in one room, had plumbing problems in another and the last room. had refrigerator and microwaves not working. Most of the cars in the basement never move and are non hotel guests and is 65% full with a few very tight spots open. I have pictures of the cars not moving for days The years before, mostly empty garage. Cars were all hotel guests, as cars moved on a daily basis. Never again coming back, after coming back year after year.

I liked it when I first stayed their after the third time I had a couple people stop by he came up and said we could only have two cars I said ok that’s fine on the fourth night when I was checking in he said their is a 50 extra person charge and he only takes cash but he won’t charge me for the other night so I had go find a way to get the 50 dollars my friend thought that was alittle high so I look on the website it said 10 dollars I showed it to the the guy he tryed to talk his way out of it then he well I could only have one car I said you said two cars the other day then he said well he’s going to use as a deposit then and give it to me in the morning then in the morning he said he charged me for the other day after he said he wouldn’t and gave on half back.

Enjoyed our stay

This is a smaller hotel, but it’s clean and well situated. We were in town for a Warriors game (arena was about a 15 minute drive)and this hotel made for an easy jumping off point to spend time both in the city and along the coast on Highway 1. The breakfast is small, with fruit, muffins, granola bars and cereal along with juice, coffee and tea. There are several restaurants within a short walk and the airport is very close. If we ever return to the San Francisco area, we will stay at this spot again.
