Surly and inefficient reception staff.

Hotel is clean well situated and walking distance to restaurants and a Costco. Airport shuttle for us at least was brilliant. Turned up on time delivered us to the correct terminal and was helpful and efficient. Reception staff however for check in was surly, unhelpful and unresponsive. Did not offer IHG rewards offers or even mention my status. Room was short of creamer for morning coffee so visited reception and asked for more only to be gruffly told housekeeping would deliver some. Never arrived. One persons poor service and attitude can spoil a person’s impression of an establishment and he did. Shame because the hotel was ok. Because of hom will never return.

Questionable Shuttle Service

We arrived at SFO around 11 AM and phoned the hotel for their shuttle service. Received an electronic message that the service ran every 30 minutes. Waited 45 minutes or so. Called again and the call was answered by a desk clerk who said the shuttle service only operates from 530 t0 930 AM and then again in the evening. We had to take a $20 cab ride to the hotel. Asked for reimbursement but was denied. The hotel room was fine, as was the breakfast. But disappointed with the promised shuttle service. Not likely to return.

COVID19 CASE REFUSE TO CANCLE THE RESERVATION

The worse experience I had with management at this property (Stella and Toloa). My son come down with Covid19 on the day we have to stay (19 July 22), and the they refused to cancel the reservation. I sent proof of positive test, a day later my daughter and wife tested positive. We cancelled our trip to Hawaii, flight gave us a full refund, our hotel in Hawaii full trip including all trips we booked we got full refund. Except this property, their response to my request was they are holding me to the cancellation policy and no exceptions can be made.

I rented a room here for last Wednesday evening, and received four confirmation emails including two the day of arrival, again confirming my reservation. Upon arriving to the airport, I contacted the hotel requesting information on the shuttle. The front desk staff then informed me that my reservation had been canceled due to payment not going through. I don’t understand why my payment would not have gone through considering it was through an IHG credit card and their points program. I’ve never had trouble with it before. The front desk also informed me that the hotel was sold out for the day and that they would not be able to provide a place to stay. As a female, being stuck at the airport without accommodations was infuriating. Once I contacted customer service, they told me that they could not assist either and that the hotel would reach back out to me to help resolve the issue. Once the hotel reached back out to me via email, they basically argued with me and told me that it was my fault that my card didn’t go through and that there was nothing they could help with. After receiving four confirmations for my reservation including two the same day as the reservation which I have posted a screenshot of, you think that that would be enough to assume I have a room. Due to the lack of support from this hotel staff and from IHG customer service, I will no longer be booking with this brand and plan on canceling my IHG credit card as well. There’s no point in paying that credit card fee in exchange for such poor, non-existent, service.

Good for an early flight from sfo

I stayed here for one night during a business trip to sf bay. Chose this hotel mostly for the close proximity to the airport since I had a very early flight. I still had to get an Uber because their shuttle doesn’t start until 5am. Hotel was clean and nice, as expected for a holiday inn express. Staff member who checked me in was less than friendly. Staff at check out was friendlier. Overall it was fine.
