Do not waste your time or money
For those not interested in a long review - we checked in, and received a full refund and left the property within 2 hours - do not waste your time or money with this shambles of a company. Issues started when we booked and were told to contact to arrange check in. Contacted, no response, tried again, no response - rang twice to which some private contact centre answers and tries to contact Royal Stays for you to which they cannot get someone to answer and advise someone will call back. Timeframe advised was it “won’t be long”. Luckily we booked through Airbnb (never thought I’d say this) and reached out to discuss this lack of (no) contact. They responded as soon as Airbnb got in touch directly with them... shock. So we check in, go through all the details to check out and rules etc, no big issues, notice a few broken bits but host stated he’d done a pre check in inspection so not to worry about anything. Host leaves. We start moving stuff in, to discover the filth that actually was in this apartment - did a quick hoover and filled that up, wiped every surface that was covered in dust, some corners had more dust than I’ve ever seen in my life and the sofa was disgusting. The host (through Airbnb) offered to reimburse the cleaning fee ($70) to which we declined and opted to just gtfo ASAP and take a full refund (a decision not taken lightly due to a stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne at the time lol). Also, Airbnb listing is very misleading stating a full kitchen and even mentioning oven - can confirm there isn’t one. Please don’t give these people whoever they are any of your money!!
Good location, bad communication
We had a nice apartment at City Road, with nice facilities like swimming pool, jaccuzi and fitness, and in the apartment a washing machine and drying machine. It was nice cleaned before we went in, but stains on the linen we couldn't remove. Good price - quality, good location, supermarket around the corner. Easy to get the key, we made an appointment with the host for that. But only 1 key for 4 working persons does not work. After 3 weeks asking we never got spare keys. They charge you for creditcard payment and when you stays for 8 weeks its a big amount
Townhouse in Frankston, Australia
A most delightful townhouse with all the amenities. (The photos of the place are real.) We stayed there for a month. Beautiful gardens across the road to walk, hike, see parrots, etc. The stay there was exceptional. Great views, and detailed to the max. The kitchen was perfect, very big. We made many meals there; entertained our friends too. And close to the trains, should you want to venture into Melbourne. A great beginning to the Mornington Peninsula too, where you'll find more than 200 wineries, sculpture gardens, fabulous food, hiking and beach walks, etc. It was a trip of a lifetime for us. Highly recommend.
$100 for late check in
In small print on the web it advises 12 midnight check in. If your planes late there’s a $100 late fee to get your key. No room service btw, make your own bed each day. Room was otherwise clean , fairly basic Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and the drain holes are not well placed, so get used to walking in a puddle when you need the bathroom later Nice view of the bay though Not sure if I’ll be back, I’ll make sure to get there early
Excellent service
The staff is friendly and the location is excellent and the gym and pool made it all great value for money. It worked our well for us with full kitchen and laundry facilities within the apartment. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs an extended stay in Melbourne.
