We traveled from Virginia to see family. We had a wonderful experience at a Residence Inn in PA so we were happy to get a suite here. The room was filthy upon entry. A roach in the bathtub, dead centipedes on the bathroom floor, under the beds and dead flies in the refrigerator. We immediately went to the front desk to complain and was offered a small room with less bed. (We had a party of five) The front desk associate gave us cleaning supplies to clean the bathrooms as housekeeping had left for the day. She said she would put in an order for the entire room to be cleaned the next morning. The next day we went out with family for most of the day. We can back around 5pm and the room wasn’t touched. They didn’t even take out the trash. I called to the desk to complain and once again the front desk associate said housekeeping was gone for the day.
Furthermore, the pipes are super loud. You can hear when anyone around your unit runs water or flushes. The furniture sofa and chair were filthy. There was dog feces on the side walk in front of our unit. One of the most disgusting hotels I’ve ever seen. We are done with Marriott!

I am a lifetime platinum member of Marriott. The room itself was comfortable and clean. However, Our check in experience with the manager and subsequent interaction with her front desk staff at her direction completely negatively affected our stay. Not one of three people behind the desk wore masks (I believe it is Marriott Covid policy to do so). This stay was one night of a 69-night cross country motorcycle trip and we arrived on a 90+ degree afternoon with empty “canteens”. There was no warm greeting and when I asked for a bottle of water, was told I had chosen points instead and they also were not handing out water due to Covid (again, no masks on them - just me). I was told I could get water in the fitness center in another building but was not told that I would have to come back to the front desk for a bag of ice. It was the experience of the manager acting as though we were an imposition to her/them (no eye contact or greeting to us; only speaking to her staff about us as though we weren’t right in front of her that created this poor experience). We are staying at many hotels - Hilton, BW, Marriott, IHG and independent hotels and this experience as well as the wonderful experience at other hotels have shaken our loyalty to Marriott.

This place is the noisiest place I have ever stayed. It shouldn’t be since it is located in the small golfing community of Southern Pines. However, the hotel was poorly constructed and you hear every step taken of those above. Not only that but you hear showers and any kind of running water. If the sound does not due you in the trash and uncleanliness will. Every trash can on the premises was overflowing for the entire four nights of our stay. Toilets next to the front desk were clogged and not working. Breakfast was very poor and there was no effort made to social distance. The room itself was tiny and poorly outfitted for a suite. Front desk personnel were unfriendly and disconnected. This was the worst of four poorly operated Marriotts we stayed in as we traveled from Minnesota to North Carolina for golf. I am about to give up on Marriotts unless it’s one of there superior brands like Westin or Renaissance etc.

We can for three nights with our 15 year old daughter and upon check in they informed us they upgraded our room at no additional charge. Our room was two bedroom suite, clean, great room, living room area, kitchen, it had a fireplace which we were excited about but you can only burn the fire logs and they were out, but also laundry down the hall.
We loved the hot tub ! Pool looked great but a bit too cold. Tennis, basketball, beautiful sitting area with a fire. Breakfast in the mornings and coffee all day.
Staff was very attentive and welcoming.
We will stay here again when we are in the area.

Our room was spacious and the hotel location is great. Bed comfortable and room quiet.. Only complaint is that the furniture was worn and tired. Cushions on hide-a-bed couch didn't fit properly. Coffee maker didn't work properly. On the brighter side, clerk that checked us in (Nathan) was quite friendly and helpful.
