AC ruidoso, malísimo colchón

El aparato de AC es tan ruidoso, que parece un motor dentro de la habitación. Da lo mismo si está en High o Low, el ruido es el mismo. Para peor, te tragas todo el ruido y el aire no es bueno.
El hotel se ve nuevo o recientemente renovado, pero es incomprensible que, por opción, se compren colchones blandos (donde te hundes) que te arruinan la espalda baja.
El gimnasio estaba bien.

Very pleased with our stay. Room was well appointed with comfortable bed and pillows. All areas of hotel were clean but housekeeping was not occurring due to Covid. The pool was small but well maintained. Breakfast buffet was great and well stocked. The staff at the front desk was the most friendly that I have encountered. While eating breakfast I watched them deal with an issue and staff was supportive and caring to guest with an outside issue. The only con I had was that other guests didn’t wear masks indoors while at breakfast buffet. I understand that this may not be important to everyone so I would bot judge the hotel based on this. Thanks for a great stay.
Experiences did not meet Expectations at this Fairfield Inn

As a matter of background information, we have always sought out various Fairfield Inns and Suites when we travel, in particular, in North Carolina where we travel quite a bit. For the most part, the Fairfield Inns we've stayed out were absolutely superb - all the way around.
So naturally, we sought out the Fairfield Inn in Southport, based on our previous experiences with them all over the state. But I must say that this particular Fairfield Inn leaves so much to be desired.
When we booked a King size bed suite room, we were always accustomed to a much larger room - using other Fairfield Inns as an example. When we finally were able to get into our room, it was a smallish room, and when you pulled out the sofa bed (we had 3 adults in our party), there was little room to maneuver in our room. Needless to say, we soon came to realize that paying almost $500 for two nights in this small room was just NOT worth it.
Then there was the issue of cleaning. I don't know if this policy was confined to just the Southport Fairfield Inn, or if this is a newer policy among the entire chain, but unless you request it, the hotel staff will not clean your room at all. We didn't realize this and our room became loaded with trash (remember, the small size of the room and 3 adults). In addition, when checking in, we had to request more towels and the sheets, pillows, and blankets for the pull-out sofa bed.
As for the breakfast, it was an embarrassment, and again - I don't know if this was a Covid precaution, but we've been accustomed to nice breakfast arrangements in the other Fairfield Inns we've stayed at, to be sure. The horrible (and rubbery) tasting Jimmy Dean microwave egg white and turkey sausage sandwiches certain did NOT do anything for one's palette. Now if all you were accustomed to eating was either microwaveable oatmeal or cereal, then all was well for you, I suppose. As a result, the last day of our stay, we ignored the Fairfield Inn breakfast and went to a local restaurant.
We soon came to find out (while checking out), that this was an older building that once belonged to the Hampton Inn and was taken over and renovated by Fairfield. Still, there were just too many scenarios that would preclude us from staying there again in the future. If you want to see two specific, outstanding Fairfield Inns - visit the ones in Elkin, NC and Elizabeth City, NC. Both set the standards and tone for what all Fairfield Inns should be like. Those two locales will spoil you to be sure.

We were really happy with the hotel. It’s was clean and airy. The fitness center had a lot to offer, the breakfast was pretty good and the rooms were clean. We were most impressed with the bathroom and the updated modern shower! And the staff were very friendly. Definitely a thumbs ups

What an excellent Fairfield Inn experience. Yes, the hotel is in a terrific location halfway to Southport center and halfway to Oak Island and beaches, yes, this hotel is totally Covid compliant and SPOTLESS. Yes, this hotel has an enhanced breakfast with delicious prewrapped breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, and grab-and-go items.
But it is the staff, so attentive, personable, eager to please, and professional that give this hotel its edge! From my first encounter with the fantastic, capable, dedicated Angie at the front desk to my pleasant, efficient experience with Kris, our stay was wonderful. Shout out to Kayla in the breakfast area that never stopped cleaning, replenishing items, and positively interacting with all the guests. She is such a hard worker! Not to forget manager Christine who works just hard alongside her employees making sure each guest was happy and satisfied! THis will be our Southport hotel for all future stays!
