Good Hotel but could be so much more....

This hotel has the potential to be superb but falls flat on a few key facilities. Sometimes it's a 3/5 experience and sometimes a 5/5 so went down the middle on the rating. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious, beautifully decorated and panelled, the coffee making faciltes the best we had on our trip, the bed/linen/ toiletries all amazing. All these aspects were 5/5 - superb. But the bathroom has no shower! This is the weirdest thing......Briig order some hooks so you can have a shower! The noise as many other guests have pointed out is an issue, we survived okay being night owls ourselves but I would say if you were looking to relax and get good sleep, be warned. Breakfast, if you get in early is superb! If you come down later in the morning, a car crash. I can see how there are mixed reviews. First morning we came down, waited for about 30min to even get a coffee, well over an hour for breakfast. The waitress told us it's because everyone comes down together so next morning we came an hour earlier. Different experience. We came early for the next three mornings and had superb breakfasts every day.
We didn't use the pool in the end, we went up one day and people were almost on top of one another, looked like a crowd of seals on a beach. My advice to the hotel, as the pool is small, they should operate a booking service so everyone has a chance to use it while they are there. I think any negatives are easily resolvable they just need to work on them.
We feel ripped off.

We can say that the architectural and design aspect of the hotel are amazing. But there are some scratches and dirt on the walls which haven't been cleaned or removed for weeks.
Problem No. 1
Right after check-in we complained at the reception about our bathtub which wasn't working, cause the plug was missing and the water tap was loose. They told us that first thing in the morning they would look for a solution. But nothing happened.
Also there is no shower head bracket which would allow you to take a normal shower. We therefore couldn't bath nor could we enjoy a normal shower.
Problem No. 2
At our second day we sat at the pool on the rooftop. A lot of used dishes were just lying around and no staff there to clean them up. After we ordered a Club sandwich, which was actually really good, but took them about an hour to make and as it arrived it was already cold.
The Pool area is awfully small for such a big hotel.
Problem No. 3
At our last day we went to the breakfast buffet. We know that the level of service professionalism is not comparable with any other touristic country. But when you pay 330€ a night it can be expected to be good. The staff was very unfriendly. They made no effort to serve us until we actually had to walk up to them and ask to be served. This took 10min. After 30min we got our coffee, it was cold. After 50min we got our omelette and the fried egg that we ordered. Both of the dishes where cold. After complaining to the waitress she did not make any effort to excuse the poor quality of service. She got aggressive and left.
Ow and for those who are travelling to Croatia, don't expect any good orange juice. That stuff tastes like Gatorade even in the expensive hotels.
Problem No. 4
As there is currently a pandemic going on as you all know the staff doesn't comply with any covid rules. The hand sanitisers are all empty and the staff is either not wearing any protection or wearing it under their chin.

Loved this hotel and would definitely return!
It’s so modern, clean and beautiful
The rooms are spacious, there is a huge bed, lovely bath, quality toiletries that are replaced daily, and tea and coffee making facilities in the room
The staff are so helpful and can’t do enough for you. We couldn’t fault the service
Breakfast was a real highlight for us. They have a delicious small buffet with quality items- fruits, salad, yogurts, pastries and bread etc. You can also order from a menu, things such as eggs benedict, pancakes and toasties. Breakfast can be eaten on the outside terrace which is lovely
We had room service one evening and that food was delicious too
The pool area is nice and relaxing but could do with some light music and someone there in the afternoons to take drink and food orders
We had a sea view room and the only negative is that there is a lot of noise coming from the beach until around 4am but this is not a fault of the hotel. It certainly wouldn’t stop us staying again
Top class but not without its identity issues

Briig is immaculately decorated, taking much inspiration from Scandinavian design elements. The rooms are indeed nice, but somewhat stale and not very inspiring in terms of layout. Amenities are good too, as well as the service level. The bar and "terrace" area are also up to par with a world-class hotel - a nice cocktail menu that's highly welcoming after a day spent on the beach (it would however be nice with some good vibe music). Location is also good, but please expect quite high noise levels as there is a beach that becomes a meeting point for approximately 1,000 young brits chanting "Will Griggs on fire" every single night. The pool area on top of the roof is small on not very welcoming, and we wouldn't recommend you choosing Briig if you have kids that want to swim and play.
All in all, Briig is a very nice hotel, but the question remains - what kind of hotel does it want to be? Is it a business hotel? A resort-style hotel? Is it an art hotel? Time will tell - - we enjoyed it regardless.
Great hotel in Split

Great hotel in Split - staff was friendly and helped us plan day trips in the region and find restaurants to eat in. Design was great and our room was available early, which was helpful. Location near the beach was nice.
