Bad internet; indifferent management
Reviewed 2 october, 2021
We’re currently staying at the resort. Unit 2026. Our internet speed averages about 3 mbps with frequent periods of complete outages. The resort staff is indifferent and the 3rd party tech support has failed to fix the problem. Tech support says we should be getting 10, yes 10 mbps! If you’re going to try to get any work done, don’t stay here.

I love this place because I can feel I am home not in a hotel. Only thing it was the bathrooms was not sparkling clean, I found some hairs in it. We enjoyed the pool, having a small market inside of the resort saved us some time, we loved it. Would stay again

The westgate flamingo resort was a disaster from start to finish! My 70 year old aunt arrived at 1am for check in. They did not have her room available. There was only one person working in the ENTIRE resort. That one person had to leave the front desk and go clean a room for her, leaving her standing outside in 110 degree heat! After waiting almost 2 hours our party was placed in two separate rooms instead of the one we reserved. The next day we were awakened and RUSHED into switching rooms, dragging bags from one side of the resort to the other again in plus 110 degree temperatures with no help from resort staff! There was absolutely NOTHING done to resolve the sub par service that was rendered. We asked for a laye checkout and that too was denied! The rooms were not very clean which is totally scary during a PANDEMIC. I would strongly suggest no one visit this resort. There are plenty of less expensive better options!
Memorial Day Vacation

My stay was wonderful. I had a small issue but the Front Desk Attendant, Mia and the Shift Manager, Ariel handled my issue speedy and respectfully. All the workers at the resort are so nice, welcoming and informative. All the rooms are renovated and spacious. My family and I had an excellent time there and we will be going back soon! My kids loved the pool and the pool hours too. Trina
Unfriendly staff who would not accommodate us for THEIR technical issue

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS!!!! Terrible experience all around. I booked my stay through Westgate's website on May 10 for Memorial Day weekend (May 28-May 31). On May 11, I received an email from Westgate Flamingo Bay telling me to share my stay on social media and how they were excited to see me. On May 27, I got a certificate to redeem a complimentary welcome gift when I check in, valid from May 28-May 31 (the dates that I booked). Yesterday, May 28, I pull up to the resort with my friends and absolutely no one can find my reservation. I explain the situation and show the emails that clearly indicate that I have a reservation, but the front desk team does nothing to help me. I spend a couple hours on the phone with Westgate corporate who also do nothing to help me. Thankfully they had rooms available for that night so I ended up being able to book that one night, but we were planning on staying the entire weekend. Saturday was fully booked, so we couldn't secure a room for that day. The most frustrating part was when we were communicating with Ariel, the manager at the resort. My friends were speaking on the phone with him for about a half an hour as they drove to Vegas, and he couldn't get his information straight. He first tried to tell us that I had booked my reservation through Booking.com (not true). Then he said that he spoke to the front desk agent, who told him that I told her that I "forgot" to book Saturday. Also not true - I did not tell anyone that, ever. When my friends arrived at the resort, we all spoke to Ariel in person, who was extremely frustrating and unhelpful. He talked in circles and kept repeating the same sentence over and over again: "I cannot help you if you don't have a confirmation number." Which was clearly the root of the problem the entire time -- I had booked the reservation, I had received emails about my stay, but never received a confirmation number. Clearly an error in their system -- but he was treating us like we were at fault, and he was not willing to accommodate us at all. He antagonized us by claiming we were not meeting him in the middle, which makes absolutely no sense. We were showing him all the emails that I had received and all correspondence relating to the stay, as well as my internet history which also clearly showed that I had viewed a confirmation page on Westgate's website on May 10. HE was the one not meeting US in the middle by refusing to hear us out. So here I am back home -- we were forced to cut the long weekend extremely short and leave since there was no availability on Saturday and they would not accommodate us. Every person that we spoke to, at the resort and at the corporate office, was extremely unfriendly, arrogant, and rude. They do NOT care about customers and will straight up lie to your face to get you to leave. Please save your money, your time, and your energy and find somewhere else!!!
