Lunch visit

Reviewed 16 october, 2021

A great pub with a new well presented interior. A friendly greeting and service throughout from the staff. There is a good selection of beers including some which you don’t find everywhere else in town. The food was of a decent quality, a little pricey but in fairness, worth it

First week opening

Reviewed 22 may, 2021

I stayed here for three nights in a cycling group of retirees on their first day of opening on May 17th. Our group took over the accommodation, which is an add on to the pub. It was high quality and we also enjoyed 2 evening meals there which were also good quality. It was a good place as a base to explore the area. We could also leave our bikes in the corridor outside our rooms.

Very, very tasty Sunday lunch

Reviewed 2 november, 2020

My wife and I had an extremely tasty Sunday lunch. I had a delicious pork belly with all the trimmings and she had roast chicken. Very tasty and superb and efficient service from the young staff. Loads of veg, beautifully cooked and fantastic gravy. We’ll be back ‘lock down’ permitting.

Fabulous.... from the easy booking process to the great atmosphere in the bar, lovely food, great selection of drinks and staff who were so helpful and friendly... (special thanks to Izzy). The room was clean, cosy, comfortable and provided a lovely night away.... We would recommend and would definitely return. A gem of a place!
