Excellent stay for business. Service great and Boat House restaurent very good food. Breakfast very good selection also. Rooms dated but they have everything you may need. Good location also. Would recommended for business or pleasure.

A pre Christmas meal out

Eating n HS1, a more relaxed sitting that doesn’t take bookings. Staff - spot on. Worked the room really well, friendly and engaging. Drinks - mock tails and cocktails. Food, good range and included GF options that didn’t involve removing parts of the dish.

Comfortable and accommodating

Reviewed 13 october, 2022

Needed to book a room at the last minute and the hotel was really helpful and accommodating. A comfortable room but what stood out was really friendly service at reception, lovely food in the restaurant, accepted the dog in the hotel and had made arrangements for early continental breakfast for those leaving for early ferry.

Worn rooms but nice staff

Reviewed 28 september, 2022

The staff at this hotel were so nice and friendly that I am a little hesitant to make negative comments. But......the rooms themselves are pretty worn. We were only provided one partial roll of toilet paper and the bathroom sink had the old, separate hot and cold faucets. It was an absolutely basic room...no frills. Our room overlooked a parking lot. Cost 218 GBP. They did provide a full breakfast and were located walking distance of the whole downtown area. We ate at "The Boathouse" which was downstairs in the hotel. Very convenient.

Touch of Luxury on the isles

Reviewed 20 september, 2022

After staying in a few ‘rustic’ places in northern Scotland this was an oasis. The room was small and there was no lift which made things hard with luggage which is the reason for giving it a 4/5 but it was spotlessly clean, there were elemis brand toiletries in the (tiny but modern) bathroom and the staff were great- particularly the welcoming and fun ladies on reception. We had a great dinner in the evening and a delicious breakfast the next day of proper local delicacies. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that I wish the breakfast dishes were smaller portions so I could have tried more than one thing. I would have loved to have a small piece of both the haddock and kippers or had a taste of the porridge made with cream!
