OK for Overnight Stay
Opinión escrita el 26 de Julio de 2021
We spent a night at the Holiday Inn SW Route 66 while on a Route 66 road trip. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The room was decently appointed but seemed to be remodeled on the cheap, and the room's floor had a pronounced slant to it. We did a load of laundry while here and were annoyed to find the machines took quarters only. Also, the dryer was laughably bad, and we spent countless dollars getting our clothes dry enough to pack.
Overall, we were happy to have a relatively clean hotel with laundry facilities at this point in our trip. But considering the dryer hassle and cheaply remodeled vibe, not to mention the distance from attractions, we would stay elsewhere if we visit St. Louis again.
always something wrong

i stay here for work on a regular basis 2-3 times a week. there’s always something wrong when i’m here. 50% of the time the key card doesn’t work requiring multiple trips back and forth from room to desk before the door will even open. the rooms don’t have carpet and whatever they mop the floor with leaves a nasty film on the floor. often there will be no towels, toilet paper, or missing bed sheets. have had dirty sheets left on floor. have had broken faucets and showers sometimes the tub won’t drain or toilet won’t flush. we’re supposed to have microwaves in rooms but when new owners took over they were all removed. just this trip the only roll of toilet paper in room had defecation on the side of the roll. there’s always something wrong whenever i stay here. can’t believe holiday inn allows this or would even want their name attached to it.

The company I work for puts me in this hotel, and I usually stay here a couple times a week. When we first started staying here sometime last year, the place didn't seem too bad, and definitely an upgrade from the dump/crackhouse we had been staying in (Holiday Inn Forest Park - DO NOT STAY THERE!). In a short period of time however, it was discovered that the ownership of this hotel was changing, and it was being taken over by the same owners of the aforementioned dump/crackhouse. It has been in a steady state of decline ever since.
Maintenance issues, cleanliness issues, poor service from staff and management, pretty much everything you come to expect from a fleabag hotel. Other issues occur from time to time such as coffee pots that don't work, no coffee pods in the room, no hangers to hang clothes on, very few or no towels, previous guests' soap and shampoo still in the shower, wreaking smells of marijuana smoke in the halls and elevators, stairways that smell like a garbage can, poor internet service that disconnects every few minutes, and other minor things that are quite aggravating. They have snacks available in the lobby, but they are so outrageously priced it should be a crime. There are also coffee pots in the lobby, but I always seem to find them either empty or full of ice cold coffee.
If I were actually staying here with my family, I would definitely be quite unhappy and would feel as if my hard earned money had been squandered. If someone is set on staying in this immediate vicinity, I would recommend the Best Western Kirkwood Inn.
Not so good

Hotel is old, not maintained and rooms were not very clean. I would not stay here again. Baseball team had to stay here. For price not worth it. Card readers on doors dont work right. Beds make noise. Plus side location is good for food, gas and highway.
Nice comfy beds but a few kinks

First of all it is a refurbished hotel. We had to change rooms because our AC did not work. They were great about allowing us to change , but we went from a nice big room to a small room /small bathroom with no view.
Beds and linens were very comfortable! Rooms very nicely appointed. The fact that you have to buy a $5 breakfast box ….ugh. For $147 a night ? Ridiculous. And we booked this hotel for the outside pool….which had no water in it! Disappointing.
