Superior Studio North Tower
We have stayed at this hotel several times previously and enjoy our stay and the location across the beach that this place offers. This is the first time we haven’t stayed in the deluxe studio which faces the ocean due to unavailability due to school holidays. We stayed in a superior studio (Room 308) on the third floor with no ocean views but a view towards the pool. Room is renovated so nice and fresh and clean with a decent sized balcony. Room has a microwave but whilst no toaster is provided they were happy to provide one for us. Basic cutlery was included so one could have a simple breakfast. Our room had a washer and dryer in the bathroom which was a bonus as we were in Manly for 12 days. North tower pool is heated and has a spa. Staff as usual are very helpful and a special mention to Helena in housekeeping who went above and beyond in her duties. I do prefer oceanfront rooms but we still had a great stay. I’m sure we will return again.
Disappointed
I did my research before booking, but obviously got it wrong. With the advent of Meriton, Questp p Adina etc on the hotel market we're used to a certain standard of hotel accommodation, especially when a room is described as a Studio, one or two bedroom apartment. All of which will have either a kitchenette or full kitchen. Whereas a hotel room as such, suite etc doesn't. Thats why we have these classifications, to clarify what to expect when choosing the room category we desire. Sebel seems to have their own classifications, which unfortunately contradicts the standard definations. We booked this hotel to celebrate a 60th birthday and we booked a 'studio' For a Sunday night approximately AUD $275 We were told at checking that in South Building!?! Directed into back Lakeway which ssmelt of garbage into another building. It had one small lift, which housekeeping was obviously using at the time, it took 10 minutes to reach 5th floor, and this was after 3pm. On entry to the room it appeared expansive, only due to hall entry Looked for kitchen, kitchenette nothing. Apart from that the room was a bit grubby. Stains on carpet as well as dress cushions on the bed. The room itself, although a good size, was tired. Yes it had a balcony, but the view was back streets of Manly and at least 25 other balconies from across the road looked straight onto our balcony. No Privacy, what so ever... Called reception, told only ' ocean view' studios have kitchenette.... Are they serious, a 'studio ' is a studio regardless of where it positioned. Needless to say this soured our stay and needed to improvise our plans for birthday celebrations. In my honest opinion as a traveler, I could never recommend the Sebel in Manly. Manly is a beautiful place, I suggest u look at Quest or Novatel Not Sebel. They seem create their own definitions
Disappointing
Wow where to start ! The room was not very clean particularly the bathroom I had thought I would have some kind of district or street view for $409 a night but no I was looking straight into someone’s lounge room ! Disappointed to say the least, never again.
Always perfect! ✅
What a lovely stay at the Sebel Hotel . It has everything one requires for a beach stay. The location is ideal with the beach directly across the road and cafes, restaurants, pubs within easy walking distance from the hotel. My oceanfront apartment 201 had a charming view of the ocean. It’s fun sitting on the spacious balcony watching the world go bye. The apartment with modern contemporary furnishings was just perfect 👌 The facilities of the Sebel are fabulous with a outdoor swimming pool , spa room , restaurant and parking . Highly recommended for those looking for easy beachfront access and boutique style accommodation.
Amazing view from our room
It’s worth booking a beach view room. It is an unbelievable view and you can spend mornings people watching. People swimming surfing sailing it crazy. Or you can run across road for a quick dip before breakfast. I thought I was in heaven!! Staff were very friendly and courteous.
