THE place to stay in Siracusa!
How fortunate we were to stay here. It was just perfect in every way. Giuseppe and Simona made us so welcome and took great care of us. Our room on the top floor, had a terrace with beautiful sea views where the most glorious breakfast was privately served to us every morning. We certainly felt like honoured guests. The house is decorated with immaculate Italian good taste. It is in a perfect position for all the sights. We can't wait to return.
Ideal Place to Stay
We were thrilled with our stay at Port Marina~contact and reservation process was easy, Simona was so helpful with parking and sightseeing and restaurant advice. She even contacted our next host and set up our meeting. The room was large, clean and looked over the harbor. The location was ideal. The breakfast was undoubtedly the best we encountered in our Sicily adventure. This is truly a special place to stay in Ortygia. Grazie Simona!
I cannot give a rating for this. Excellent seems inadequate.
If you are going to Sicily, Italy. You MUST book a room here. But, we fell totally in LOVE with Simona. She took such good care of us. Breakfast, WAS TO DIE FOR! Meat, cheese, bread, fruit, danish, jams, eggs, pies, etc. etc.Who prepares any kind of coffee for you. Well, I will start with coffee, then go to Latte, and then will you make me espresso? The rooms were lovely, the area was exquisite. Walk the area, become Italian everyone is wonderful! As Simona would say, "And now we kiss." I love her! We will go back some day and once again, we will fall in love with Simona all over again.
Great Bed and Breakfast
This is a small and very nice BB in an excellent Location. Ortigia is just beautiful! Our stay at this BB was excellent. The place is immaculate and accesible to everything. Simona, the owner, went far and beyond to help us with information we needed in order to go to our next point. I don’t want to forget the incredible breakfast she serves every day. Plenty of sweets with the addition of cheeses, meats, and fruits. Highly recommended.
Outstanding in all ways!
I booked the Suite on the top floor at B&B Porta Marina, Ortigia, and it was perfect. Not only was the room spacious but the private terrace where breakfast was brought each morning was the icing on the cake. The welcome we received from Simona on arrival was wonderful, with a glass of freshly squeezed blood orange juice and a fount of information on what to do, all delivered with great enthusiasm and genuine charm. The suite was everything we hoped it would be and offered privacy with stunning views over the harbour, the location of the B&B Porta Marina couldn't be beaten. Simona arranged a taxi to collect us from our hotel in Noto that dropped us off at the front door of our accommodation. It wasn't just a taxi ride but included a detour to see some of the most interesting placed en route by the friendly driver, Giancarlo. Breakfast each morning was a sight to behold consisting of a wide range of fruits, cold meats and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, juice and fresh coffee. We specifically asked for no cakes but if we had wanted them, a wide selection would also have been available. Each morning we looked forward to the breakfast and it never disappointed. The final morning, Simona arranged to print off our boarding passes for our flights back to London and willingly offered us a late check out as the room was available. If you haven't been to Ortigia, put in on your list of places to go for three or four nights, it is picture postcard, oozing character and quality and take my advice, if you can get the suite on the top floor, snap it up and don't look anywhere else, despite the fact that you have to climb the stairs.
