Football game /50th college reunion

Reviewed 17 september, 2022

The front desk clerk named Chris is totally ignorant as to what hospitality and being a “guest” means. This hotel serves as a convenient spot to stay when there are home games at SU. We are in our seventies and cannot walk with ease. We were told the hotel shuttle would pick us up after the game . We called for a pick up and were told the shuttle was at the airport and in about twenty minutes they would be back. I called again 45 minutes later and was told the shuttle was still not available. The airport was their priority.Chris said “you can walk or call uber”. We have no experience with uber. What Chris failed to do was take care of his guests. He could have said, “what is you Location? I will call a car for you”. We would gladly have paid for it. We slowly walked to the hotel , thank goodness it was downhill. Upon returning to our room we found that our room had not been serviced. Chris failed to tell us we needed to ask. There is NO written info stating this policy anywhere in the lobby or in the room. I am so disappointed by his place. The only bright spot were the women who ran the bar. They were wonderful. We will not be staying here again.

Comfy beds and cigarette smoke odor in a room overlooking the highway

Reviewed 26 august, 2022

Upon entering our room, we were hit with a strong, unmistakable odor of cigarette smoke. I appreciated that the hotel was dog friendly, however upon check in they informed me that all dog rooms were on the 2nd floor. The front desk clerk claimed this was to avoid potential anxiety in the elevators for dogs (probably the real reason was they didn't want dogs peeing in the elevator). The elevators were vert slow so I did appreciate being able to walk the one flight, although I did not appreciate the view from our second floor window which looked directly over the highway! Oddly, the blackout curtains did not close all the way, and the sheer panels let the light in. We were only there one night, so it wasn't a huge deal. The decor was pretty dark and dated. The one good thing was the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. We chose this hotel for its proximity to Syracuse University as the closer hotels were booked for move in weekend. I have it booked again for Family weekend but am having second thoughts given the very high nightly rate.

Glad we picked this one!

We were driving to visit a weekend attraction and decided to spend the night in Syracuse. I quickly read some reviews online and we decided to stop at the Crowne Point. Glad we did! The circular shape of the hotel certainly stood out! We spoke to at least 6 employees from front desk to lounge and were impressed by the friendly and professional treatment we received. The room was quite nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not included in our rate (it can be depending on what you book). We had a very delicious breakfast with excellent service. If I am ever back in Syracuse I would stay here again!

run down hotel with a few fresh finishes

Reviewed 26 july, 2022

This hotel could use some cleaning and freshening up. It is an old building and there is a lot of construction going on around the neighborhood. there is a lot of noise from the outside and the window coverings do not cover the windows entirely. The windows in the room are very dirty on the outside. I saw this mentioned in other reviews an thought nothing of it but it it quite impressive how dirty they are. They look like they haven't been cleaned for a decade. The service seems to be spotty here. The front desk manager and our waitress at breakfast were nice and competent but the housekeeping must be having problems. Housekeeping stripped the linens and piled trash from an adjacent room in the hall in front of our room and left if all day and over night. The furniture in the room is a mixture of newer and old. The curtains are old and have dirty feeling to them. When booking direct through IHG, I was given the option to pay a higher rate to have breakfast included. At checkin, I was told that breakfast is not included but they give a voucher for $20 off at their restaurant. They charge an additional $15/day for parking in their unsecured empty parking lot.

Great stay...love the location.

Great experience here during my one-night business stay earlier this month. Location is great. Comfortable walking distance to many downtown locations and right off the major roads and highway. Great taco place (XO Taco) around the corner. Check-in process was smooth. Lobby was neat and well-kept. The three elevators (touchscreen requested) seemed adequate enough to service all 19 floors. I was able to get a room on the 19th floor with some lovely views of downtown. The room itself was small (as expected with most downtown area hotels) but was very clean. Bed was comofortable. TV was large enough for the room's size and modern with lots of channels to choose from. Room and hallway decor were not modern, but also not very old. Lots of electrical and USB outlets scattered around the room, which was very convenient. Shower was a bit awkward, with the rainfall-style showerhead directly above you. Makes it a bit difficult to wash everything except your head without some serious bodily maneuvering. The water pressure was fine. I did not get a chance to eat at their restaurant downstairs but the space seemed very nice. There is s small maretplace area in the lobby where you can purchase sncaks from. The Fitness Center had a few machines but oddly, it was facing the outdoor entrance area and you can see the people working out from the outside. The garage was right next door to the hotel and there were lots of empty spcaes on the first floor. It was very walkable from the hotel entrance...though there is no direct access from the hotel to the garage to my understanding. Parking is $15 per night with in-out priviledges. You can given a barcoded ticket that you can scan and enter and leave the parking lot until the end of your stay, if you choose park there. All staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful.
