Owners are great and it’s clean

Very basic room. It was also very clean. I messed up my reservation and arrived a day early. I was able to get it fixed. Then the hotel even upgraded me. It’s in a great location. Restaurants walkable and if you shop at Walmart you can walk thru the parking lot. It’s close to the recreation sites. The entire town was friendly. The room was clean. The owners seemed to help out the staff. I hope that means they also treat them well mentally, physically and financially. The lobby was clean. The outside of the property was clean. It was a very functional room. They do allow dogs if you don’t leave them in the room unattended while you go play in the lake.
Not so sure about this place
Reviewed 10 march, 2020
For starters, this place is right off of a Walmart parking lot. There is quite a bit of lights and commotion coming from the store, but in hindsight- it is a convenience where you can walk over and get necessities. There are also a few other restaurants in walking distance, too. That was nice. Room was extremely basic - noting fancy nothing exciting. It was a stock typical Super 8 motel with exterior corridors. Rooms were cleaned each night (was here on business), and we had what we needed for our stay. Staff wasn’t the most friendly. Man who checked us in wasn’t the most personable of people - but he got us all hooked up with the room reserved by a third party. There is a creepy older man who was down there in the lobby every morning. He would just sit there and stare/glare at you while you ate the complimentary breakfast. Made the experience very uncomfortable. Same guy checked me out in our final morning. No smile, no thank you. The breakfast is there, but limited. It offered basic packaged sweet rolls, toast, and cereal. Nothing special - but nice to have. I travel extensively all throughout the year for work and pleasure. I make it a point to use TripAdvisor when I book my own travel plans. As a way of giving back to the TripAdvisor community, I do reviews on EVERY hotel I stay in - good and bad. My reviews are honest and as accurate as can be.

check in was slow but we had a big group 18 rooms , I think with the fact they new we were coming (we booked in advance) they should of had 2 people checking us in, rooms were clean, right by a Wal-Mart & food places ,We were on a motorcycle ride * ROLLING THUNDER POW-MIA

This place does not deserve the Wyndham name attached to it. It was so dirty that we slept in our clothes on top of a blanket we brought from home. Nasty stains on linens, furniture, walls and carpet. Never took off our shoes. So much black mold in the bathroom it was scary. The smell of the room was not good at all. Breakfast was a joke - a few tiny sweet rolls and lukewarm coffee. That is all. Someone from Wyndham needs to go do an inspection - right away. And we paid more for staying here than we paid the next 2 nights at a lovely Wyndham property. Absolutely a nightmare place.
Nothing Fancy, Serves The Purpose
Reviewed 7 january, 2019
I stayed at the Super 8 for a night and while it’s nothing fancy it served the purpose of a place to take a shower and lay my head for the night. Both staff members that I encountered on check in and check out, were both friendly and courteous. Upon entry of the room, I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room which featured a nice sized flat screen tv. The water pressure in the shower was nice and there were ample towels. The one major downside to the room was the paper thin walls, I could the rooms on both sides like they were sitting in my room with me. One was loud and obnoxious and the other received an emergency phone call in the middle of the night. The breakfast left a lot to be desired with only cereal and a couple of packaged sticky buns. There was also oj and coffee to choose from. While the room was nice, due to the thinness of the walls I’ll be looking elsewhere on my next visit to Talladega.
