As I was attempting to pack for my flight home just before 4 this morning, I heard a loud pop just outside my room. Just as my wife and I tried to confirm if it was a gunshot, we heard 6 or 7 more loud pops. At that point, we knew they were gunshots. My wife and I low-crawled on the floor as if we were in a war zone. We heard yelling and screaming in the parking lot and in the hallways. Approximately 3 to 5 minutes later , we heard more gunshots going off. At that point, we waited on the floor until police arrived. We left out of the hotel and never looked back. Nothing against the staff, but I will never stay at this hotel again!!!
More security needed.

It would have been 5 but at 4am I was awakened from a huge fight that was going on and then there was someone that was firing a gun multiple times outside. There was only one person at the desk and she handed the situation very well. I did not feel right leaving her alone. I tried to help get some people to calm down. I feel that you definitely need to have security on every day and you need more security cameras not just in the lobby. Please consider getting cameras on the outside of the building and some on every floor in the hallways and have The monitor out in the open so that your person working the desk and see what’s going on. This was very traumatizing to everyone that has heard and seen this happen. Other than this is a great hotel.

Stayed 7/8 and 7/9 in a one bedroom suite, corner unit. Complex was very nice, everything was clean, parking was plentiful, and well lit, was never concerned about safety. Unit #302 was a corner unit, it was spotless, had a full size frig, cooktop and a microwave. large sectional, desk, table and flat screen tv, bedroom had a comfortable bed with queen size mattress, flat screen tv, and tub/shower combo. the only reason I did not give this hotel FIVE stars was the breakfast, . The buffet usually consists of scrabbled eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage, hot oatmeal, and toaster for the bagels and bread. Not at this Marriott, the three chafing dishes which held: pre-packaged jimmy dean sausage/cheese biscuit's (which was barley warm) another had pre-packaged breakfast burrito's (which was warm) another had a pre packaged waffles. no toaster, no bread no bagels. I asked at the front desk, why the breakfast was not the usual Marriott fare. She said that, Marriott has changed since COVID, I said Oh, well I stayed at three different Marriott's just last month and ALL had the hot buffet. AND...I had family that stayed at the Springhill Suites (down the road) same dates, and they had the usual Marriott breakfast which consisted of: scrambled eggs, sausage links, hot oatmeal, bagels and bread and a toaster. Needless to say didn't bother going down for breakfast the 2nd morning. There is an OUTBACK within a short walking distance from the hotel. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if they were counting on having a decent breakfast.
Friendly choice for a family arriving at Tampa International Airport

For a family arriving at Tampa Intl Airport from UK, the 2 bedroom suite at Residence Inn Westshore was a great choice to get over jet lag, being conveniently located near a couple of restaurants and within 10mins walking distance of the International Plaza shopping mall. Management (Robert) and staff were very friendly and helpful e.g. arranging a taxi ($10) for me to pick up our rental car the next day, which was easy from here. In fact the only problem is - surprisingly - there's no shuttle bus from the airport but it's less than 10mins in a regular taxi (the driver demanded $30 minimum fare although we had read online it should be $20). At the hotel the check-in was friendly, suite was clean and comfortable for a family (even though a little "dated"). By luck, we had the swimming pool to ourselves - there's also a small fitness centre and an office/printing facility we did not use. Breakfast buffet was functional - good coffee but a relatively limited selection of food.
Many choices in Tampa can't go wrong with this Residence Inn.

I was offered premium corporate housing/condos in Tampa. I wanted to give the Residence Inn a chance since I am a big fan of Marriott. From the min I walked in to check in for my long stay Todd De Carlos (Evening manager) made me feel like we were long time friends/family. I have been here for 2 weeks now and the entire hotel staff always makes sure to greet me everytime they see me. They did everything they could to give me a nice room as a Marriott Bonvoy member. The hotel room is very nice has everything you could need for a long stay. Full kitchen and a nice living room and a very large TV. I work super early so I don't get to have the free breakfast often but when I did it was a good spread. Wish they would get me a take away bag for the super early birds. I have not tried the pool, gym, basketball court, or BBQ grill but it all looked nice. In conclusion good hotel even better staff.
