Terribly Managed Property! Run to any other Marriott in town...

Hotel management doesn't care about property or guests. No AC on hot Florida summer stay. Room was filthy sticky and gross. Lounge was filthy and not maintained. Ice machines broken on the entire property. Pictures say it all. Just disgusting how this can be part of Marriott Portfolio. Hotel Manager locked himself in office and refused to come out to long line of irate guests. Do yourself a favor and do not book this go to any other marriott in town.

I stayed at this hotel from Thursday, August 11th through Sunday, August 14th for a wedding. My room's temperature did not get below 74 degrees throughout my stay. I voiced my concerns to the front desk in the AM on Friday, the 12th. They sent a maintenance worker to my room who stated the temperature should start going down in the next 20 minutes. The temperature in my room actually increased throughout the remainder of my stay. When I spoke to Donte about my experience, he stated the best he could do was credit me for 1 night. I responded in an email to him and Bryanna stating that I would be satisfied if I was credited for at least 2 nights and also included support with photos of my thermostat throughout my stay. Since I have not made progress, I made a phone call to the corporate office stating I would like the General Manager to give me a call to discuss further. I should not have to follow up this many times when I am being more than reasonable given the circumstance. Michael H

Stayed 4 nights for my birthday. Only stayed here for the location as there were other places cheaper near by, but never again. This hotel is ran terribly! For one, the air conditioning did not work!! The first room we were in we set it to 68, it did not drop below 74, even at night! There was no air circulation and all our clothes hanging in the closet were damp from the humidity. I’ve lived in Florida my entire 28 years of life and know humidity. But this was beyond unbearable. After bringing it to the attention of staff they sent someone to fix it while we were out. Came back, still not fixed. Okay, notified them again. Came back. Still not fixed so asked for another room. No apologies or anything from staff. Just “here’s your new room”. That room was set at 65 degrees but you couldn’t change it. And the wall thermostat read 68 degrees but that room was not 68 degrees! We had to go out and buy a fan because it was so uncomfortable. We also overheard 2 other groups of guests complaining about the air conditioning while walking through the lobby. As well as the employees at the check in counter having a box fan on the ground pointing toward them. So everyone is aware of the defective air conditioning so what is being done to rectify this issue ?! (2) Valet. The guys were great, nice and helpful BUT the hotel only has one bellhop cart and no one assists you in unloading your car. Which normally wouldn’t be an issue at all, but since it’s valet only parking it gets very backed up with multiple people and cars trying to unload, and come and go. It gets very chaotic ! (3) There’s no microwaves in the room, also not a big deal but the day after we called and asked for one we saw a microwave sitting in the lobby on a cart plugged in, in the corner. Someone could’ve informed us that there was one down there. (4) I read previous reviews of the fire alarm going off at 3 am and thought to myself “stuff happens it was just that one time”. Uh no! The fire alarm also went off during our stay. Thankfully it wasn’t at 3 am but it went off around 2pm and it was loud! So we walked down 4 flights of stairs to the lobby where one manager told us “everything is fine” so we were gonna head back up to our room but then another manager standing 5 ft from her was telling everyone to evacuate the building and go outside while she’s on the phone “trying to figure out what’s going on”. So everyone had to stand in the hot, outside. (5) My boyfriend had to go to every floor in search of a working ice machine, finding only 1 working on the floor above us. The ice machines are in closet type rooms in the hallways and the one on our floor had a huge hole cut into the wall with discolored insulation around. It was a mess. (6) Maintenance and repair work is unacceptable. The hallways and rooms are covered in excessive, dripping caulking, chipping paint, gaps in the caulk in the shower, stained grout in the showers, build up on the shower heads, etc. Carpets were also filthy. The closet door in our second room was just placed inside the closet off the track leaning against the other door. Thankfully I saw it before opening and it falling on either of us. Overall save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else !!!!
Stay away! Dangerous! No security precautions in place

I’m writing this while I’m still here on my last night and this place is awful! There was a very loud argument in the room right below us. Several people screaming at the top of their lungs on the terrace, so loud that people on the Riverwalk stopped to watch Hotel security came but they did not call the local police. .Then I go to the pool to relax and there are three crackheads who are clearly not from the hotel, in the pool. Again hotel security, only one guy , tried to get them out and they refused and the confrontation escalated making everyone at the pool very uncomfortable. And there were little children at the pool!! . From the look on their faces, they looked terrified! Again why weren’t the local police called? When I tried to discuss my concerns and verbalize that I was feeling unsafe here, the guy at the front desk said “well, this is downtown Tampa“ I suggested they post a security guard at the pool at all times and in the lobby he said “I wish we could have a security guard 24 hours“. The front desk then told me to call the manager, who didn’t answer his phone, and his voicemail wasn’t set up, so I couldn’t leave a message. I texted him with no response This is what I get for close to $300/night???? This is far from the level of Marriot quality, safety and security I expect. Run, don’t walk away from this hotel.

We checked in on 7/24/2022. 1) we were informed that the third-party valet service had gone up from 32.99 per night to 36.99 per night. 2) once we got all of our things into the room, I went into the bathroom and the tub was disgusting. We had to use my pool shoes to take a shower. 3) On Monday while getting dressed to go out for my birthday, I noticed the room was getting warm only to find out after we returned the the air conditioner had gone out which was not good. Didn't get it working until about 2 hours after our return. 4) Although I know it was a third-party valet, on the ticket is a number to text if you want your car brought down, needless to say 3 times I texted and 3 times we got downstairs, and they had not even read the text. Still had to wait on the car. THIS WAS A TRIP FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND WE HAD TO DEAL WITH ALL OF THIS ..... UNEXCEPTABLE I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH SHERATON.
