More about the hotel
Spend your money elsewhere!
Room is nicely appointed but that is where the good parts ended. Room was loud. Walls and ceiling thinner than any cheap apartment I have ever rented. Heard footsteps and talking all the time. Front desk completely unconcerned that we had a bug walk across out bed. We literally had to insist they give us fresh sheets. The cleaning people apologized but the front desk personnel never did. Water pressure is terrible. Good thing I don’t have much hair left. All this for $200 per night (on a “special”)? No thank you. Will spend our hard-earned money elsewhere next time.
New Mexican Beauty
Having never visited New Mexico or snow before, I was not prepared for the beauty of this resort. It is everything you could ever want for a winter wonderland. My breath was taken away every morning we woke up here. With the landscaping, the room, the staff, and of course the snow. We had the China room which was a 2 bedroom suite. We felt like royalty! Both rooms had king size beds and HUGE bathrooms. A warm living room (sofa bed) with dining room table, a mini fridge and coffee station. We even had our own back yard! Very comfortable with lovely spacious rooms. The living area floors were heated which added to our comfort. The reception staff was so friendly and helpful. Especially Matthew. He helped make our trip so special. So kind, friendly, and patient. He even let us borrow sleds for the day to play in the snow. We will definitely return!
Front desk very rude
Beautiful hotel, lovely grounds. However, not a very kind front desk guy. He clearly doesn’t have the best customer service skills, as if we were putting him out. Arrogant. He couldn’t wait to get to his break or something. We had to find out on our own what was going on with the restaurants, how to get to our room, room service operations, etc. For the room rates here, I’d expect to be treated better. I’ll be in a Taos again, and won’t be staying here regardless of how lovely the place is; there’s others to choose from.
Best hotel in Taos
We had planned to stay for 2 nights but changed to one night because NM issued a Stay At-Home order. There couldn't have been more than 10 guests staying the resort. Its a nice facility with artistic decor. The style of the building exterior and interior is designed to give it an 'old' look. We rented a king suite that had a bdr and lounge. Floor had cracks but other than that, it was well maintained.
Beautiful Hotel
We bought a 3-destination package from Heritage Hotels and chose to spend one night in Taos at the El Monte Sagrado. What a beautiful hotel. The rooms were very clean (a must during Covid) and no one had stayed our room the night before we arrived. They have beautiful grounds. And the staff is fabulous. Our only complaint is that the walls are thin and we could hear plenty of noise from the room next-door and the hallway.
