Horrible Experience on our first vacation in 3 years!

Reviewed 30 may, 2022

The only good thing about this entire hotel is the front desk staff, Sarah and Amanda. Our room reservation was completely messed up from the first night. We are traveling with our 16 year old so we reserved a king bedroom suite. We were told upon arrival we had a “studio” and even after showing our confirmed reservation all we got was I’m sorry the room you reserved last week is not available. We were put in a double queen handicap suite the first night and were told to speak to the manager who would be in the next morning. Worst sleep I have ever had in a hotel. She never did come in, but we were comped our first night for our inconvenience and the told we could move to our original king bedroom suite. We thought things would get better but that was not the case. The pull out sofa bed in the suite was broken so they brought a twin roll away bed for my almost 6ft 16 year old to sleep on, definitely uncomfortable for him. We asked yesterday morning to have a room refresh—new towels, empty trash, clean bathroom—not done but we did get more towels. This morning at breakfast, my husband was standing in line to get a waffle and the rude teenagers in front of him put all the batter in cups while they were making waffles so my husband could not get a waffle and all they said was sorry, breakfast is over now. We had planned to spend the last day of our 4 night vacation in the pool, which is temporarily closed. If you want to have a horrible vacation then stay here. If you want a real stress free nice vacation, stay somewhere else! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

A good hotel that meets your needs

While not the best location the hotel is clean, comfy, and the staff is great. It’s really not in the ASU area. It is next door to the Tempe Marketplace a large outdoor mall. Room met expectations. Free breakfast was serviceable, but just barely. Nothing was very tasty. Staff was great.

While I have to agree the standard suite is smaller than others I have stayed in at Homewood Suites, the staff made up for it. Everyone seems to know you when you are there. Even the people staying there will chat with you. For such a large hotel it feels small. If you need anything they are sure to get it for you. My room was clean, the walls were a little old as you could see some stains here and there but that comes with age. Comfortable bed, I always have to stick with Hilton because I can’t sleep anywhere else but home.

Didn’t get room we reserved. Dirty room

See previous comments but would add the toilet seat doesn’t stay up for men while urinating. Given wrong room initially, then the new room still wasn’t what we reserved. We were scheduled to stay for five nights but after the first evening we decided to relocate hotels. When advising the front staff that we were not happy with the quality of the room or the property we were going to check out early they said that is not a problem would be good to let housekeeping know and good for them because they have another room available for someone else

Great staff! The hotel itself is just run down compared to other Homewood Suites that we have stayed at…

Reviewed 3 january, 2022

This location had absolutely wonderful staff! However, the facility itself was the most disappointing Homewood Suites that we have ever stayed in… During our stay, we noticed the following: -Peeling wallpaper in the hallways and room -Sealant that was peeling out of the cracks in the shower (it appeared to have been sealed over mildew) -Broken rail in the shower -Numerous stains on the carpet -Old linens (clean, but many were very worn and in need of replacement) -Dirty utensils in the drawer, dirty pot holders and kitchen towels in the drawer -Laundry room was poorly kept (trash overflowing, thick layer of dust on top of machines/table/floor -Scrambled eggs made from powder? (we have only ever had real eggs at Homewood Suites hotels that we have stayed at in the past…)
