Having previously stayed in this guest house on numerous occasions we were extremely disappointed with many aspects on our recent two night break away. Cleanliness of our room left a lot to be desired,with dirty toilet and broken toilet seat,tears and holes in walls with rawl plugs showing ,spilled tea/coffee marks on ensuite door,dirty paintwork dead flies on windowsill, dirty kettle,very unsure of cleanliness of bed sheets and pillow covers. On previous occasions we had a choice of porridge AND full Irish with orange juice and plenty of tea and toast but on this occasion we had only one choice from the menu with no orange juice and only one slice of toast each .We had no approach from any member of staff asking if everything was ok.We would also like to point out that sugar cubes in a bowl without tongs is not acceptable. How ever we would have no complaints about the food. So overall a very disappointing stay and would not recommend it as I have done in previous reviews.

Rooms not serviced at all

I stayed at this Property with My Wife and Daughter on dates July 30th to August 2nd 2022. On arrival there was no reception. The barman showed us the rooms. He displayed zero interest . On day 1 we discovered the rooms had not been serviced , at all. It transpired over our 3 night stay that the bed sheets , and bathrooms had not been touched over 3 full days. When it came to paying the bill there was no one to take my card . I wanted to complain about the lack of service however there was no one there to deal with my complaint. 3 days later I got a call to say my bill had not been paid. This property is badly run, sloppy , and zero customer service. The bed was tiny and uncomfortable. Stay away

We were in Clonakilty just one night and chose An Sugan due to its location at the centre of town. It's an old, historic building and the decor is in line with that. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep, the breakfast in the morning was really good and there was a good selection to choose from. The gentleman serving was very jolly and upbeat which gives a good start to the day. A couple of minor pints though, there was no shampoo/shower gel in the shower, just a bottle of hand soap. The TV also didn't work when I tried it upon waking in the morning. Overall though we enjoyed our stay.

We had a brilliant few days in An Sugan guesthouse. Two rooms were perfect for our family. Spotless and a very good size Fantastic breakfast with top quality food each morning. The waffles went down a treat with the kids Staff were great and looked after us perfectly. Can't wait to visit again

A great location right in the town with lots of free parking outside. The building is amazing with lots of interesting pictures and ornaments. Breakfast was really tasty with a lovely choice of different foods. The poached plum and pears were gorgeous and the granola and berries were also fab. However, the room let the whole experience down. It looked lovely and some care and attention to cleaning along with a new mattress would have meant you got a great review. The extractor fan in the bathroom was hooked with dust as were the fins in the radiator. The mildew and mold in the grout and the dirt under the taps was,also not good and we are still trying to figure what the sock hanging from the ceiling was for!
