Great value for an authentic Tokyo experience.
The location near all the major Tokyo attractions can't be better! The staff were helpful and friendly. We had plenty of rest in the capsules. A truly unique Japanese experience! We'll be back again! Great choice for a bargain in Tokyo.
Great location, incredible for its price, but not for everyone
For its price you can’t get much better than Capsule Value Kanda. I have stayed here on two seperate occasions in early 2019, with a collective five nights. This hotel is great for solo travellers, as it sees many tourists coming through, allowing you to meet many interesting people from abroad, as well as many locals from Tokyo, and other parts of Japan, all the while giving you a greater degree of privacy compared to a standard youth hostel, due to the capsules. Though the best part of the hotel is undoubtedly its location. It is a short walk away from Kanda station, which has connections to the Yamanote line, and the subway, therefore providing access to all of Tokyo’s biggest attractions. It is also only one stop away from the Shinkansen at Tokyo station, allowing for awesome day trips as well. There are also many convenience stores and fantastic eateries in the nearby Nihombashi district. This is a male only capsule hotel, so straight couples and female travellers are better looking elsewhere for a capsule experience. The only significant inconvenience I experienced was the daily check-in, check-out policy (which is standard for most capsule hotels), but would still recommend staying multiple nights if you are budgeting, or want to meet new people. The capsules themselves are decent, easy to sit up in and mattresses are decent, though thin. However, I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with claustrophobia The only bathing option is a public bathroom. This is a cultural experience that can be enjoyable for some, but it isn’t for everyone. Overall this is a wonderful budget option for accommodation, particularly for solo travellers, due to its location and diverse influx. Unfortunately not available for women, and wouldn’t recommend for self-conscious or claustrophobic people. The Capsule Value Kanda will give you a unique cultural experience of Japan at a low price.
Fair and fun experience!
It was my first time staying in a capsule hotel. It was fun experience sleeping in a small room attached with tv, AC and outlet. Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel was okay. Nothing special. Would highly suggest to have a lower deck room when you stay in a capsule hotel coz not easy to go to upper deck. There are other foreigner guests and staffs shld be able to speak English. Overall stay was okay :)
Budget stay was ok
Stayed 4 nights at the capsule value kanda I was overall satisfied with my stay.Good location just a few minutes walk to kanda train station convenient stores and restaurants.Staff did their best to assist me in English.Every guest had to check out by 10am and re check-in later on. Capsules were spacious but no fan inside the capsule but it didn’t bother me.
Capsule was too hot. Ventilation needs to be improved.
I love this capsule. They did everything right including price. The bed is nice and it doesn't feel too cramped. Area is quiet and nice. The night I went it was all full so you have to book ahead of time. Bathroom is clean and they provide sleeping gowns and towels and a big locker for your belongings as well as a toothbrush. Very accommodating and staff are nice and spoke some English too (but I also know some Japanese). Length was just barely fitting as I'm 6'1" Only issue I had was that it was too hot. Ventilation wasn't very good so I found it hard to sleep.
