We absolutely loved it here. It's very picturesque, with beautiful greenery leading to stone steps taking you down to the sparkling sea. There are areas of decking right on the sea, a small beach and a lovey boardwalk to jump off. It has a very laid-back, relaxing vibe. We especially loved the aqua aerobics, cocktails by the pool, and an early evening game of pool and darts. The management was also helpful and responsive. The food was a bit limited; mostly Turkish, but the chef made an effort to make delicious vegan meals for us, which we were grateful for. Finding a table in the evenings was a bit stressful. We are a family of 8, so it was difficult to find somewhere to sit and we'd often have to wait and get ready to pounce as soon as we saw a group leaving! We'd previously stayed at Labranda, where the staff made an effort to seat us quickly, but at this resort no-one helped us. They had a band in the bar every night which was great, but it would have been nice to have more entertainment in the evening. Also, we had to walk through the smart reception area to get to our rooms after being at the pool/beach all day, which felt a bit awkward. It's also not within walking distance to Bodrum town, so if you go out you have to take a taxi. All in all, I'd highly recommend a stay here. It's in a beautiful location and is very relaxing. We were sad to leave!
Best doubletree I have been in

This amazing resort has amazed me. The beach and pool where super clean. The food quality was extremely high and the choice included drinks where extensive. The staff where amazing. During online check in, we where upgraded to a deluxe family room with an amazing sea view due to our gold status. I recommend checking in online to get the best upgrades if you are a gold or diamond member . Special mention to Bernet for their excellent service. Highly recommend this hotel if you want an excellent holiday. Also the cookie is very tasty.
Great Value for All-Inclusive Resort

I had four separate stays during October at the all-inclusive DoubleTree Bodrum Isil Resort. This hotel is normally open April to October; the experience must be different at the top of high season in July-August but in October when occupancy was low and room rates were inexpensive, I found the hotel to be unbeatable value for the money compared to other alternatives in Bodrum. The hotel does not have many suites so despite occupancy being low, for three of my four stays I only received an upgrade to a sea view room as Hilton Diamond guest, and the view was more about the pool and sitting areas below, than the sea itself. The room was small but functional, although a few things would need maintenance for example the lock of the door was jammed so I could not lock it, and the joint between the door and the wall was coming off so someone must have banged the door hard in the past and clearly the door stopper was no longer effective. The bathroom had a walk-in shower rather than a bathtub which was a plus, however the shower was not draining very quickly so there was a risk of flooding. Air conditioning was not central but was rather a split system but nonetheless it worked well and kept the room cool during the night. It was only on my third stay that I could get a different room type – this time the Deluxe Family room with terrace. This room would be suitable for a family of 4 because it was a 2-bedroom suite with two full bathrooms, one of the rooms having two single beds. The terrace from the main bedroom was larger than the terrace from the second bedroom and had a bit nicer views than the seaview room I had previously. For an all-inclusive resort, I thought the food quality was good considering the price tag and the DT hotel brand. The main buffet restaurant was used for breakfast, lunch and dinner with several tables available both indoors and outdoors. The spread was excellent and there was always something for all tastes with varying dishes every day: red meat options, fish, chicken, pasta, etc. For breakfast they also had an ice cream station. For dinner they also normally have two a la carte restaurants but unfortunately they closed it at the end of September so I could not try. Given that room rates fall below 100 EUR per night in October, I cannot say that I blame them for removing the a la carte dinner. During my stay the only a la carte choices were at the Elixir bar near the pool during the afternoon, which had a small snacks menu. They also had an extensive cocktails and drinks list available for people who wanted to pay extra; the free list was decent as well. DT is not the best fit for beach lovers although there was a small one available. Most seating areas were besides the pool or in the grass not far away. The resort had lots of facilities like children playing areas, tennis courts, etc. Most guests who wanted to swim were not in the sea but rather used the very large swimming pool where there was live music and entertainment. Overall DT is not a luxury resort like Susona Bodrum LXR next door which is the premium choice in Bodrum within the Hilton chain, however DT comes at a fraction of the price and compared to other hotels in this price range I thought it was great value for the money in low season and I can recommend it.

Over all we enjoyed alot, from food to activities. Once you are in the resort, you will want to stay more. I would suggest for more food variety rather than just turkish, as tourists come from all over world.
