Found this hotel on Agoda but not on Booking. It is a typical Japanese budget hotel. Comfortable but no frills. WiFi is good and only about 6 minutes to Toyama station. Breakfast was good and precautions were taken for Covid.

Hard beds and weird vibe

I’ll start with the positives - an easy 10 minute walk from either the JR Toyama station and the dentetsu for the alpine route. Lots of cool wee bars and restaurants between the hotel and the CIC shopping centre. The room itself was tiny, mouldy (see pic of shower curtain), and with one of the worst outlooks I’ve ever seen from a hotel window (see pic). And the toilet was like a training toilet for toddlers with the smallest seat imaginable (again this needs a picture!) . It was a weird stay and looking at other options nearby, for a tiny bit more ¥, you get a lot more reliable an experience.

Nice hotel, reasonably close to the JR station. Clean room, size pretty small as is the norm with Japanese hotels. Within walking distance for local attractions such as the Toyama Glass Museum as well as the Toyoma Castle Ruin Park.

Business hotel with a few handsome touches, like usb cables in the room, good free breakfast, plus you can rent a laptop at the reception 1000 yen. Many nice small restaurants in the neighbourhood. Recommended

Hotel Prime's USP is its location, being very close to the Toyama JR and also the Dentetsu Station. Actually we were not aware when we went that you can walk right through the CIC Mall in front of the station. You walk out the rear exit and down the road, cross a street and the hotel is a few meters down, to your left. Nothing could me more convenient. The rooms are rather small, but neat. The bathroom has all the amenities; they even give you Yukatas to wear. The reception staff is efficient and friendly, they offered to store our luggage for us after we checked out, so we could do the Alpine Route and then collect it in the evening on our way to Osaka. The complimentary breakfast was quite a spread, Japanese and English, we had to make do with rolls, sausages and eggs because of our unadventurous tastes. I would recommend this hotel for people travelling on a budget like we were.
